You can buy anything on the Amazon Japan site, just have to use a forwarding agent.
I use Tenso
I ordered a Onyko DP-X1 through Amazon Japan, a bit cheaper than Price Japan, although the wait will probably be the same.
Tenso's shipping charges and fees are very reasonable, and they ship quickly. Have used them, and Amazon Japan, a number of times.

Thank you. I never heard of that. I'll have to look into that.

$630? That's Hong Kong dollar right?

By the way, can the DP X1 feed a balanced signal to a balanced amp like Liquid Carbon? What cable/adapter should I use?

$630 is the price of the DP-X1 in USD if I am not mistaken. And as for the balanced signal to a balanced amp, it should be possible given the 2.5mm TRRS jack on the DP-X1 is the same as the 2.5mm TRRS jacks on the A&K DAPs.

If that is the case you could us an adapter like THIS and then just use an RSA / ALO to RSA / ALO cable like THIS.

I just signed up with Tenso. You need to provided a valid form of id for verification. I provided a picture of my drivers license and was verified easily and now have my new japanese forwarding address. I then created an Amazon.co.jp account using the same email as my Amazon.com US account. It's too bad I lose my prime status and can't use my Amazon.com store card.

Amazon.co.jp has those cases.

Amazon.co.jp also has a "would you like to see this page in english" option on the top right of the product page or you can use Google Chrome auto translation.

That's originally where I saw it. I just didn't see any way to order from there. Some folks here on the forum have been really helpful. I really appreciate all of the feedback.

Anyone compared the dpx1 to qp1r and hm901s in term of sound quality?

Well, I just did a crazy thing...

Bought the Onkyo DP-X1 with screen protector (Onkyo DPA-GL033) and leather case (Onkyo DPA-PUX1) from PriceJapan.com with FedEx shipping at $760 (or £531.98 according to PayPal).
I dread the UK customs but oh well...

At that price I could have got the FiiO X7, Echobox Explorer X1, Astell & Kern Jr, etc. However nothing beats the Onkyo DP-X1 spec wise at that price, but of course I do have concerns on actually how long do I wait, warranty, returns if necessary, etc.

If anybody else has bought from PriceJapan.com please comment on your progress, and if you have received the item was everything ok?
Also how easy is it to switch the language to English in the settings?

I'm also thinking of getting this case at a later date:
Van Nuys VD-280-00 DP-X1/XDP-100R Carrying Case.

Now I do only own single ended headphones but the Onkyo DP-X1 will be a great incentive to go balanced and opens me up to high end portable gear.
Yes I love my current iPod Classic 160GB to CEntrance HiFi-M8, or Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus to the HiFi-M8, but as my desktop gear has had a big change due to financial circumstances back in May '15 onwards I hope the Onkyo DP-X1 will serve me well till I get a proper desktop amp (the DP-X1 can remain a DAC for me for a long while I think). (I no longer have an amazing desktop DAC/amp; using my CEntrance HiFi-M8 for most things, and an old NuForce Icon 1st Gen amp with TurtleBeach EarForce DSP Dolby Digital Processor for both my Xbox One and PS4 media/gaming content. I no longer have a laptop either but Tidal has been my friend and i borrow my sister's Lenovo when necessary).

I'll be contacting Peter of DHC to re-terminate my Elite Molecule cable with Zync connectors (to my Audeze EL8 closed back headphones) into balanced and SE via an adapter.

This is still a lot of money so I really hope it's worth it...
