If Onkyo DP-X1 didn't exist, What would be your next go to DAP?

I guess after having mine for 9 months or so ,just find the battery life terrible,Just not sure what else comes closes ticking all the boxes like Onkyo

I've tested the Line Output (into a Bluetooth apt-X Low Latency Transmitter), because it has better Bluetooth range than the DP-X1.
 
My home system consists of my PC connected to a iFi Micro iDSD, driving a couple of powered PreSonus Monitor speakers on my desk, and a Polk Audio Sub-Woofer beside my desk.  So, any music that I could play on the DP-X1, could also be played on the PC - no need to connect it to the iDSD.

I'm actually heavily leaning towards an AK70 and the occasional Mojo stack. I like the smaller size. I just wish I could find the true specs of the output of the AK70.

Ak70 output Power = ak380. But what I hear ak70 is quite bassy and its dac cannot match the ESS Sabre

I've also heard similar findings but still looking for more impressions.  It doesn't appear to be a very popular device it seems.

Hi Guys, If the Line Out Mode is enabled, does the DP-X1 has a balanced output on its 2.5mm TRRS? or just on the 3.5mm TRS? 
I'm planning to connect the 2.5mm balanced output of the DP-X1 to the balanced mini 4-pin input of AlgoRhythm Duet.

Yes, the single-ended (3.5mm TRS) output can be switched between Line Out, and "Amp" out to drive headphones.

That stinks and is a missed opportunity! It'd be fantastic if we could pump the Balanced H/O into a Balanced amp for more power.

2.5mm TRRS (balanced) line out is not stated in the user manual, only the 2.5mm TRS but,.. it might be working Someone might have tried it.

True. Actually iBasso DX200 does have excellent audio quality as well. For my ears, it really is improvement (and it has same ESS Sabre DAC sound profile that i like), and I honestly almost change my X1A to that, especially since it has the DAC functionality for PC. But, after i tried its UI.. oh well

 
X1 / X1A does tick the box in all aspects, from UI to sound to storage (double sd card). Battery is no issue for me in X1A. By disabling all bloatware, and leaving it in aeroplane mode when not in use, i do get excellent battery life. i can get up to 3 days between charge.
