ysyung , others have mentioned where Sound Quality drops? Stability verse SQ? Do you know what the issues were? The only issues I've had are OTG being interrupted frequently. Otherwise stable.

Something seems different after the update. Seems a littler closed up and more restricted now after the update. Don't have a balanced cable to test out yet.

200GB card for $60.  Amazing deal - I just ordered one.  Thank you for letting us know!

Ignore, just checked it is from sandisk direct I think. Almost bought it, but I don't need that much space for portable use. Great deal for those who do mind you.

For me I would say I didn't hear a major difference :p If the sound get worst I think I should notice. One user in my country said the sound get better. No negative feedback here afaik.

I wonder if that was a real ad? Seems like it is too good to be true. Was the seller a long time seller with years worth of feedback? I'm just curious.

The seller is SanDisk.
These have been steadily dropping in price over time.

149.99 on 9/8/2015
99.99 on 11/21/2015
89.95 on 2/18/2016
79.99 on 3/10/2016
59.99 on 3/14/2016

Not that I've been keeping track or anything.

Today also marks the second best price I've recorded for the 128GB at 34.99. Best price I've seen it for was 29.99 on 2/15/2016.

I'm hoping they are clearing inventory for a newer larger capacity model, say 256 or 512 (dear and fluffy lord please). I went ahead and snagged one of the 200GB. Been waiting for a decent price on them and 79.99 just about got me to bite, this is cheaper than I paid for my 128GB. Now the 128 goes to the USB OTG adapter. I can't wait until I save enough to upgrade my Gungnir and then get the DP-X1. I'm about over my DX90's....features.

Yes I corrected myself after checking. Thanks for pointing out the 128GB price, I did order one of those as that size makes sense for me. Cheers.

Everyone,

I updated my player today to the latest firmware and I can't help but experience a palpable drop in sound quality; the soundstage has collapsed inwards and details that were previously obvious now have a haze over them to my ears. I am going to meet a friend who has an un-updated player to do some comparisons over dinner later. Would be great to hear others' experience, be they corroborative or otherwise.

EDIT: confirmed in A/B testing, sigh. Volume matched comparison with the same song file

2 questions:

1. Are you testing SE or balanced?
2. Did the FW update add USB DAC functionality for PC?

Thanks!

Beat me to it. LINK

Thanks for the info, Just ordered 3 :)
Will be perfect for the DP-X1 i just ordered from Amazon.jp
Will pair it with my just received U12... Happy times ahead

BTW anyone know if the stock player supports replygain info in FLAC files? Have a lot of 70s, 80s music and it's nice in case my ears will not explode when playing shuffle and some recent songs are played after an oldie :)
