Well ak380 is how much ? 3800 ? Vs 700 ? I am sure every components in ak380 are 3 folds better in quality

. Could you hear it and observe it ? Depends on who you ask. Anyways, I agreed about the balanced vs standard...but it is a bit ridiculous to compare ak380 vs dpx1 ?

I remember the old man Rudi saying that it beats 240 and losses a bit to 240ss (I don't know the difference), the guy got **** tons of high end gear and someone who is pretty much the "Yoda" of my audiophile community.

I am in such a conundrum right now.

My original plan was to go for a Chord Mojo. Source will be my IP6.

Bulk of my listening will be done via tidal / spotify.

I'm tempted to go the way of the DPX1 instead and streamline.

IEMs will be JH Angies + AAW W500.

decisions, decisions.

Simple. Get Mojo and DP-X1 and once in a while, pair them.

Was afraid i would get that reply.

#YOLO i guess.

Hello, year end bonus.

Well cheaper way would be getting a balanced cable and hold your wallet in a very secure safe.

I do think the balance would be at least at the level of Mojo in terms of power.

@Wil I was planning to go TG334 balanced to DP-X1 but desktop setup burned my wallet, it would be pretty much a pseudo-endgame setup for me. No stack, no hassle, just 1 listening device and a DAP, very portable.

I just completed my desktop setup a few months back (With the Valhalla 2 too).

I think i might get the Mojo first, then the DP-X1 when stocks come in locally in my country.

Fun times ahead!

Can't go wrong with both of them, they are 2 devices that surprises many people. Mojo being small and relatively affordable can run 2 HD800 simultaneously (might not be optimal but quite a feat) and Onkyo with DP-X1 that pretty much beats a lot of its competitor out of nowhere in SQ/$ ratio. Who would guess that an Android based DAP with 2013 flagship smartphone hardware priced a fraction of AK240 can give it a worthy fight lol.

Hi Orky,

I have not managed to go through all 156 pages of this thread.  Do you mean that the origin of DP-X1 is a smartphone?  If so, may I know which one it is?

@camera nope, I mean it got the internal of a 2013 flagship smartphone, Snapdragon 800 if I recall correctly and 2GB of RAM. The same as LG G2 and the phones of its generation.
