old NAD headphones?

The look very interesting, possibly a 2 way design, that looks like a dome tweeter in there. I cannot get them to appear on ebay uk though.

I doubt that's a dome tweeter, I imagine it's just the shape of the driver cover. I had never heard of NAD making a headphone. Givin their philosophy on audio design, I'd be very interested in hearing them.

And BTW if I could get my hands on an old Facel Vega and drop it off at Chip Foose's door to work his magic, I'd be a happy camper indeed!

I had exactly the same first thought about the dome shape as duggeh, and after looking a bit had the same second thought as swt61 about it being just a cover. And kudos for being the first to officially recognize my avatar. Now I'm trying to figure what a '61 swt is...

I'll be putting down a modest bid. It seems like there's a few people watching this one, though-- wish me luck. If anybody in the US wants to make a fat bid on it, you can have it shipped to me here and I'll bounce them out to you for the cost of shipping (after a few days' trying them out, of course

It's a rare old vintage of a slightly paunchy windbag who almost believes his own bullsh*t.

In other words my initials and year of birth.

..For those who prefer their NADs electrostatically charged...

This model might be something to wait for.

Haven't heard, seen, felt, or been irradiated by these myself.

Wait a minute, Wualta! Isn't this NAD we're looking at on Ebay (and this one you've just shown us) rather remarkably similar to the 80's Fostex T50? (that none of us here would even know about if you hadn't shown us in this thread) I'm seeing nearly identical aluminum parts, what seems potentially to be a cosmetic change in the earpiece housing, plug and cable connections evidently identical. It seems to me perfectly possible that NAD commissioned Fostex to do some headphones for them-- it's not as if NAD has any headphone specialists on the engineering crew.

The plot thickens. At least the NAD look better than the T50. Six hours left, no new bids.
