You can get the HD800S for around $1,250 new with a bit of nego with your local retailers. Ignoring the $200 preorder drop’s credit, you might as well just avoid Drop’s version since you aren’t saving much.

Only if you are in Malaysia or Australia lol
Sennheiser should cut a deal with Crinacle to retune the HD8XX and delay launch by 3 months. That's the only way to save this impending disaster.

Sennheiser should not rely on anyone to tune the 800s or 8XX…Sennheiser should cut a deal with Crinacle to retune the HD8XX and delay launch by 3 months. That's the only way to save this impending disaster.
Hell, they can’t even comprehend the Orpheous II and what is behind it, and or why would it is priced as much as a BMW

Yeah, they should have just released a cheaper HD800/s.
This is the first failed Drop X Sennheiser product.
Drop could still sell plenty of HD 8xx by making HD 6xx EOL.
Go check the sales figures for the 6XX and ask yourself why they'd do that.Drop could still sell plenty of HD 8xx by making HD 6xx EOL.
They'd lose money... a lot of it.

38 cancellations in three days. When do you guys think they address this? They have to address it…right? You don’t just lose $41k in three days and not try to address the issue and stop the bleeding…right?

Oh well, they probably don’t care enough, they can simply sell an Orpheous ii and scoop it back38 cancellations in three days. When do you guys think they address this? They have to address it…right? They went back to the drawing board the first time after some lukewarm reviews. I can't imagine they aren't plotting another pivot after the latest wave of terrible reviews. Especially with the flood of cancelations. The fact that we havnt heard anything from them makes me think they're still deciding what to do. Either way, some more communication from drop would be nice.38 cancellations in three days. When do you guys think they address this? They have to address it…right? It was over 1000 at one point, so it might be closer to 50 cancellations.

what? Sell a bad product at 6x the price by removing their best seller of all time?

Thanks, now this has my attentions, the 5 vents on my anniversary is different than my 800S. No wonder why it has different sound signatures than my 800s, yet some people swear they sound the same LOL!!!

Look like Sennheiser has made 750 units of 800S Anniversary edition this year, here is the 800S Anniversary review.
I hope Drop will use Anniversary edition's tuning for 8XX.
