John Grado has been Kind enough to once again to open up his doors and host the Ny meet.
Date is Sat may 22nd 1pm-5pm , This date was picked to coincide with the the Stereophile HE2004 show in manhattan which runs 20th-23rd for those coming from out of town,so they can attend both if they want.
Space will be limited (30 Headfi members ONLY no guests Wifes, Girlfreinds or friends due to the very limited space,It wouldn't be fair to actual headfi members)so only commit to coming if you are sure you can make it.
I will be contacting vendors and gear manufactures for loaner gear for the meet. Also feel free to contact me if you would like to send loaner gear for the meet .

Cool cool. Thanks for the setup.

I don't know if I want to go to Stereophile HE2004. Don't need any influence to spend more $

Your in , looking forward to meeting you. ,looking forward to seeing the rest of you guys again as well.
I am already working on getting new gear for the meet. We will have the high end gear ,but I am also working on getting the more affordable stuff as well.
I have a Ack DAck from Chris at AcK! industries coming and have been in contact with other manufacturers of gear that have never been to the NY meet before.
I would also like to see more of the DIY
guys at meet with their gear.

I will be attending with a friend of mine. He just bought HD-600's!
He is new to head-fi and this would be great for him. He loves it.
Is that okay with you? I hope I don't intrude on anyone's space.

If anyone could bring the following...

1. Sony R-10
2. Stax Omega II
3. KGSS, Weebl
4. Underwood-modded Jolida
5. Stock Shanling CDT-100
6. Meridian 508.24
7. Grado HP-1000's/HP-2
8. Any Cary CD player

I can bring my Emmeline HR-2 with AD-797's and AD-8065's...
But if someone else could bring theirs, it would be much better.
I will be traveling by train from Long Island, and I can't carry it all.

Maybe if I dragged a ginormous trunk around the city with me...

Also, will anybody be posting directions to Grado Labs anytime soon?

I had to decide if my wallet was ready for war...

I will walk out of this meet with answers to essential questions:

1. Which do I prefer, Sony R-10's or Stax Omega's? Any others?
2. What is the best $2,000 and under source for my above 'phone?

Level 2 Underwood-modded Jolida JD100A? With Superclock?
Cary 303/200, 306/200, or 308T/308? How does it compare?
Will a stock Shanling be a worthy purchase? Without upgrades?
How does the Meridian 508.24 and 588 fit into the mix?
biggrin.gif

Do I need to worry about high-quality interconnects right now?
Which interconnects and power cords will fit into my budget?
Can power cords and conditioners wait until I finish upgrading?

3. Since I will be buying one of those 'phones, how much do I need?
4. Will any of the above sources also excel with an HR-2 and ER-4S?

See? THAT'S why I waited so long to commit to attending...

Wow. That is so unbelievably kind of you.

But the problem is, my friend and I were going to take the train in.
Then, we figured we would have to transfer through the subway.

If I recall correctly, Queens is not very far from Penn Station...
Is there any possible way you could meet us an Penn Station?
Then I could bring all of my stuff, I wouldn't need to lug it all...

I mean if that is too far out of the way, by all means say no!
biggrin.gif

But I figured I would try to bring my gear, and taxi's aren't nice!
Being able to go with a local Head-Fi'er would be unbelievable...
As this is my first meet, I need to feel as much at home as can be!

Whatever your answer is...
Thank you for your kindness!

Scott
