Hello again, its really good to be back on headfi and just at the time when the he1000v3 stealth get introduced and soon the new hifiman amp/dac.
I know not that many people have tried the v3 yet but ingeneral what have your results been with different cables for these?
Was thinking of getting them from moon audio with either the black or silver dragon cable... (probbably that first one).

Can you take a photo of it? When batteries swell, they tend to open up some products, but your SP1000 most likely has its enclosure thick and rigid enough to not do that.

There's not much to see. The back is just beginning to detach.

If that cover now remains constantly detached and doesn't want to get into position, something has to push it from the inside. The odds are it's a battery, so I'd probably ask the manufacturer about that, just to make sure.

I finally got my hands on an original pair of HEK's from it's original release date in Canada - does Hifiman still have the V1 pads (the original ones that came with the V1) or is it only the V2 pads available now? I believe there is sonic differences (they look thinner to me).

Tried hard to find the original, Hifiman HE-1000 V1 pads, but no avail.
Then checking some others - real sheepskin leather from China that changed the sound too much.

Finally I ordered “Dekoni Spare-Earpads HiFiMan Arya / EPZ-ARYA - Elite Hybrid” and, oh wonder:

Size and sound perfectly resembles the original ones, even measurment-wise.
Only the top-, air-band is a bit stronger due to the Dekoni doesn’t have the protective cloth between ear and driver.
I like the little change, gives the HE-1000 V1 an electrostat-like transient response.
If one doesn’t like that, transplant the original cloth to the new pads.

Here are some measurements:
• Original pads,
• Original, slightly worn pads,
• Chinese sheepskin pads,
• Dekoni EPZ Ayra Elite Hybrid

Watch out for the very fine scale of 1 dB per line.

Hi, please advise or recommend which of Hifinam HE1000 (SE, Stealth, V2) is best for listening to classical music. It will be driven by Audiolab 9000. I don't have an opportunity to compare them.

Stealth to my ears was sharp and I didn’t like it at all. Would go with V2 if it was me.

Thanks, I don't insist on the Hifiman brand. Should I choose Audeze LCD-5 or Meze Elite instead of Hifiman?

May i ask about the reason? Meze Elite are fine cans, but given how much love Susvara get here on HF I simply had to ask
