@iFi audio
what is the best ifi-amp for V2?
any recommendation?
The higher up in our roster you go, the better, so Pro iCAN Signature is the best we got, but we got lots of great feedback about ZEN CAN with HE1000V2. Hope this helps, thanks!

I just saw a review of HE1000V3
How many of HEK is there in total?
V2 vs V3 is Stealth magnets, or also 3.5mm?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm aware of these:
- HE-1000v1
- HE-1000v2
- HE-1000SE
- HE-1000v2 from the 2022 with Stealth magnets, aka the 'v3' model

That should Cover all models with sound differences.Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm aware of these:

I think there might be some V2 variants with 2.5mm connectors and later with 3.5mm (similar change to Susvara)
If I'm not mistaken the SE and V2Stealth always have 3.5mm while the V1 always had 2.5mm

Thanks, I was wondering whether I got everything correct.

I wonder if the V2 is just the V1 with the same driver but a different cable, pads and enclosure.
I tryed the V2 cable on my V1 and the sound match what i have read about the V2. (I prefer the more mellow and fuller sound of what i hear with the V1 cable personally.
The V2 cable put the singer closer to the stage, is a bit less boomy bit more sparkly and leaner, it matches the description of the V2 vs v1).
So, if you want to know how sound the genuine he 1000, you just have to find the original cable and plug it through the 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter and that's it.

IIRC HEKv1 was mellower, rounder and bassier versus the a bit leaner, spicier and more forward-sounding HEKv2, but I may be wrong here. It's been several years since I had both at the same time, so please take my hazy impressions with a grain of salt

That's what i hear too when i switch the cables.
I think the driver between the versions is exactly the same. So it makes quite easy for anybody to be able to switch between the sound of the two versions.

That's interesting, thanks. Now I wonder whether someone else can confirm that both HEK versions have the same driver. In the meantime, I've found this:

HEllo everyone. Wanting to buy my first planar magnetic headphone. Would like to combine it with a smallish dac/amp combo. Would the ifiaudio gryphon be enough or do i need the micro idsd signature or diablo for it to work best?
I am also torn between the arya stealth and the he1000stealth/v3. Loved the hd800s but too little bass.
Does anyone have both or can anyonpoint me to a comparison?
Thanks in advance

Hi there! Our xDSD Gryphon will be enough to drive HE-1000 to satisfactory levels, but these cans will perform best with iDSD Diablo. The choice here also depends on your typical usage and whether you'd like your DAC/amp to be wireless or not. Hope this helps, thanks!Would the ifiaudio gryphon be enough or do i need the micro idsd signature or diablo for it to work best?

Is anyone aware of any reviews comparing the v3/v2 stealth to the pre-stealth v2? All the reviews I’ve seen compares the stealth either to the v1 or to the SE.
If it’s anything like the Arya v2 vs. Arya Stealth, it will mean a tremendous improvement in efficiency, harder-hitting bass, and many other benefits. That was a serious jump in technical ability. Is anyone aware of any reviews comparing the v3/v2 stealth to the pre-stealth v2? All the reviews I’ve seen compares the stealth either to the v1 or to the SE.
