I confirm all that. Also with my Fiio X1 poweroff not works on this firmware (X1_FW1.61Beta)

ciao

I noticed this problem initially but fiddling with the settings (re-enable idle power off, change timer) seems to have fixed it. I have sleep timer disabled btw.

Thanks a lot 'hucifer'! I followed your advice. Now "Idle poweroff" works.

Hello everyone!
I'm having some problem with the X1 scroll wheel. It skips
one step and sometime it takes one step up and one step down.
It was fine when I first upgrade it to FW1.6. But 3-4months after
it gradually started taking random steps. Finally, I upgrade it to
FW 1.6.1 but still nothing improved. (but now UP-down steps are less frequent than 1.6)

Not only me, there are other users also having the same issue!
Please fix it!

Hi, Deb1995.

For this case, it may be better to send the unit to us for repairing the scroll wheel.  To be honest, the new firmware just can improve the problem in some ways, but it may not fix this problem completely if the problem is indeed serious.
So, kindly send email to support@fiio.net, and we will help you directly. :)

Thanks for reply. But sending it by post will cost me almost half of the product price. Though it is under warranty period But sending it via post is difficult for me.
Is there any other way to get it fixed?
Also the seller(registered fiio dealer) is not much helpful.

  Question.

I know that Fiio x1 will works with headphones up to 100Ohm, but I woudlike to buy HD330 and it has 150Ohm and 100mW.
Will it works OK with Fiio x1 ?

Not sure if this is the right thread to discuss that by the X1 can drive my HD650 (300 ohm, 98 dB/mW) quite well, most of the time I do not have to go over 90 volume. It can even drive friend's K702 (62 ohm, 93 dB/mW), but there it starts to lose its breath and sometimes you have to max the volume to 100 and it is so-so. It is not sufficient to drive my 600 ohm Beyers (DT990/880/770), but I did not buy it for that. I bought the X1 to drive my HD25 and it does so without any problem at all.

Hi, Deb1995.

I'm also having issues with auto power off in this beta firmware. It seems to work only if there are no headphones plugged into the X1--when headphones are plugged in it never powers off (regardless of having modified disabled/re-enabled the power-off and timeout settings).

Edit: Actually that might be incorrect, I have had it not work even with no headphones plugged in at least once now, so it may be more random than I thought.

Same here. Fiddling with the settings seems to temporarily fix it but occasionally the X1 won't switch off, regardless of whether headphones are plugged in or not.

I've just installed 1.61 beta but had to go back to 1.6 because I can't see anything on my SD card.

Initially everything was browsable under folders, but when I scanned the card but it hung at 21918 tracks. I did a hardware reset, went back in and nothing there, in library or in folders. The "About X1" menu said the card was pretty much full but there was no music files. I tried another card with music tracks on and that too showed zero tracks!

Reinstalled the firmware but still no joy. Just gone back to 1.6 and all looks good again.

Tried the entire procedure again:
1. upgrade to 1.61 beta - all files there under folders, play fine too - love the search feature, saves loads of time, especially if media library would work :(
2. update media library (which is much faster now by the way :)) - it hung again, this time at 21899 tracks :(
3. ... I waited a full 10 minutes just in case ... still nothing :( - did another hard reset - however, directories and files still visible this time.
4. swapped the memory card and rescanned with 572 tracks - all works fine :s

It looks like there either there is a memory leak in the code or the memory is simply full when a large number of tracks are in the player.

Anyway, I'm off back to 1.6 and waiting for the next release - hope it's soon because the media updating and search are major advances for me on this DAP.

Keep up the good work :)

... I've just noticed that even though the settings were reset with 1.61 beta install, when I return to 1.6 they are as originally set - the example I have is the output, in 1.61b it was headphone but now it's restored it is lineout as originally set ... things are being saved somewhere im memory and not cleared down properly
