Still catchin up on all the new posts, but I love all the oldies but goodies wu's been posting here. I didn't have the bread to see them live, but remember many of these groups and songs from hearing them on the radio, and on TV back in the day, on shows like "American Bandstand", "Don Kirschner's Rock Concert", and "The Midnight Special". And also on SNL, which used to have some of the edgier artists.

Some of the late-night chat shows would occasional feature good artists as well, including "The Dick Cavett Show" and Tom Snyder's "The Tomorrow Show", if memory serves. This was mostly before MTV. There was a late-night MTV-style video show called "Night Tracks" that also played some pretty good music videos in the 80's on SuperStation TBS.
