I would much rather have a basic-but-snappy menu system than a fancy-but-laggy menu system.
One of the best DAP menu systems I've ever used (in terms of speed and playlist management, both of which, many DAPs get badly wrong) is the old iPod Classic. Had bloody-awful EQ and utterly horrendous SQ, though
........... Its all well and good putting a 128gb card in this player, but irs damn hard enough already to locate stuff....lol....... iv filled the player built in 16gb , and im half way to filling the 64gb card.
Got liads of cds on so far, which i have dragged and dropped from laptop, in w m a .......
If you play all songs....then the plater and card only show 4000 in each folder...... but you can still go to albums and play all..... Player only shows title, etc..... So hard to know who the artist is, ..unless yiu know your music really well, .....
But for the price, im pleased so far..... going to buy another 64gb card when this one gets full...
Thank you for the fast response. I was going to buy it, if it were the desktop version.
Still, I like the package and the UI. I am just not sure. I did not like the DX90 so much, which I believe has the same DAC. On the other hand it could also be the DX90s amp section, that may have not be my taste...
HELP , anyone know what the score is when you have a 64gb card ( the max the player will read ) and after loading up a fair few cds, then adding a load more cds , the albums have gone onto the card, but the player still only showing the orig amount before adding the rest ?... So what is the point if the max songs the card can be read is 4000.... the same amount being read on the built in memory on player.... ???? ........ Do some players let you add the full amount on the cards and can read them or not ?......... Can't see the point now of buying the larger card, could have used a 16gb ????

The one above in my post,, the AGPTEK IMP.... as built in 16gb with upto 4000 songs on, And then says I can use a card upto 64 gb..... but its looking like its same storage on both folders... locking out at 4000 songs , not showing all my other cds ?... only shows them on the card ???... which players let you play more than 4000 songs ?....
Would I have been better to just use a few 16 gb cards ??

Might be a DAP set to manual (rather than automatic) indexing; in which case, you might need to invoke indexing, in one of the menus.
Alternatively, you might have a player that is fussy with the way it reads file tags, and the second batch of CDs you ripped might have been tagged differently (or not at all).
But it might just as easily be that neither of the above possibilities are correct - it very much depends on which particular DAP you happen to have.
1) What model of DAP do you have?
2) Have you tried navigating the contents of your memory card using folder-explorer, rather than trying to navigate the contents via 'artist', 'genre', etc. (which are tag-based).
Think it is because the max songs allowed on this are 4000 each folder....so its locking out at about 163 cds.... 4000 sogs I expect ?...... iv tried looking over the folders, in all songs, or albums, artists etc but still not sowing the other music........ wish id knew this I could have used a few 16gb cards instead..... if im correct then ill get a few.. shame I have to now reload any more cards all over again...... Which audio play canplay more than 4000 songs ?...... any help thanks in advance... martyn
