[NEWS / DISCUSSION / IMPRESSION] Phonak Audéo PFE232

the price I paid $435 around 2 years back, was a steal, for $239 it is like free.

Yes, I see it in your avatar! :)

These phones are awesome. I wonder how much stocks they have left. I'm gonna go ahead and consider them an "under-$300 IEM" for my upcoming shootout against the JVC, Dunu, Duoza, Fidue, etc...

LOLs...wish it was free but I'm guessing u approved of the deal which was my exact thoughts. just returned a Senn IE80 (bought in Nov at an Amazon lightning deal for $229) cos fit was a big issue for me. didnt sound too bad though but i do have big hopes for these PFE232s.

Fit on the 232's are wonderful.

Is the cable replaceable? Doesn't look like it, but I was reading a review and a guy on Amazon stated that he had to get his replacement cable through Jaben...

Yes, replaceable.

With everyone dropping a hundred on TTOD T2's at a hundred a pop (not disparaging the T2, just noting how easy it is to part with $100) - PFE-232 for a little more than double seems like a no-brainer...

...it's almost like one of the bucket list IEMs - if you have a chance to try it, you do it...

It isn't coming at a good time - lol.

I got them at 300 recently and thought that was a good price. This is fantastic.

Had $6 in credits so got a pair of 022 with mic shipped for $33 - not a bad price for a knock around IEM or gift.

Are we talking in addition, or instead?

Very good news.
There are many Phonak fans in Indonesia, but the IEMs are hard to find here. If there is one for sale, it usually gone by hours.
Too bad that Earsol is not shipping to Indonesia.
I do have a forwarding service in Portland, Oregon, to which I usually send my purchase from stores in the USA which do not ship to Indonesia, but during the last Black Friday sale Earsol said that they could not ship to such forwarding service.
Maybe I have to ask my brother in Singapore to buy one for me

Hello, I finally decided to get the pfe 232`s (luckily they are still available in some eu shops) , and I have a question. I`m a bit a newbie at high end iem`s, and I would like to know if it would be necessary/recommended to drive them trough a headphone amp, considering the gear I already got.
As a mobile player I own the Iriver h340 and as soundcard I own the Asus Xonar d2x (does anybody have experiences driving them trough that gear?) .

That's a great price, also got them for about $300 a few weeks back. Thought the bass on them was good, clarity great, fit on them great (haven't actually spent a ton of time on them though, to be honest, due to an out of control shopping spree, have spent most time with over the ear or new acs customs, they are in the bullpen...). Might even be worth getting a back up pair at that price...

You don't need an amp to drive the PFE232. It's efficient enough to be driven loud with my iPhone 4S. Do also consider the PFE022 or PFE012 (with grey filter) paired with the Comply T130 foam tips if you prefer a less V shape sound signature. I own both the PFE232 and the PFE022 with grey filter.

That's an amazing bargain Ivabign, I had mine for $80 and I still think it's an outstanding bargain for the sound quality from these IEM. I truly love the sound signature of the PFE022 (with grey filter) paired with the Comply T130 foam tips. It's now my favorite On-The-Go IEM.

Thanks alot, in fact I already own the 012 (with grey filters) and I like them alot, but sometimes I miss some punch/pressure in the lower end (but I love the tight/dry bass of them) . And thanks alot scottiebabie, do you know how long this deal will be up? Because it would save me alot :)

Have you tried your PFE012 (grey filter) with the Comply T130 foam tips? If not, you truly must try it and you'll understand what I mean.
