I apologize if I post this in the wrong section as it is suppose to be for full sized headphones, but I am new to all of this and don't exactly understand the difference. I am looking for my first pair of 'nice' headphones for preferably under 100$. So far I have bee looking at the sennheiser hd 229s and the sony MDR-ZX600.  The problem is that the possibilities seem endless and it is impossible to tell which headphones would be the best for me. I have recently gotten into dub step but also listen to mumford and sons quite frequently in addition to some australian hip hop groups. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked into the Creative Aurvana Live? They have a good amount of bass for your dubstep listening.

The Sony hp's you mentioned on your 1st post have a balanced sound sig, and are very energetic.. I wouldn't use them for Bassy genres.

The audio technica ATH m50s also look good despite being a little but over 100$. Any opinions on these?
