see it's odd to me, the Z1000 are the "flag ship" but the 7520 are the "pro" does flag ship mean consumer?
I gave it some ear time tonight against the MDR-7520 on my Apogee Duet 2. The MDR-Z1000 seems to have a tiny bit more punch than the MDR-7520. It's a very very small difference.
I love the Duet 2 so much I may get one more for road use.
Looks like the Z1000 and the 7520 are the same headphones, they list for the same price, I believe the 7520 are aimed at studio users therefore they are finished in black.
