I can say that the sp1000 sounds better than any ibasso I've owned (dx50, dx80, dx120, dx150, dx200, dx200). It's ui is a lot better too. Comicly soundwise with ibasso I really liked the dx80 and 120!
I think you'll like a sp1000m
I was about to upgrade sp1000 to sp2000 then o decided to get sp1000 amp instead. I still wonder if I have made right decision. I have never compare sp1000+amp against sp2000. If anyone have that experience plead share. I knew from this thread there is this guy in HK who already said but he did not direct comparison elaborately. Thanks in advance guys.

For me it is an easy decision, I just love the SP2K’s dac so much more, the additional 512 gb is also nice for my huge library. also with the amp module it will turn the SP1K combo into a transportable unit and not a portable unit and that will restrict my traveling use. Sure I can see if someone doesn’t need to travel and have mostly full-size headphones, the additional 4 Volts will be nice with full-size headphone.
Anyone have a reliable, and tested suggestion for a 9V/1.67A fast charger for SP1000M/SP1000? Noticed A&K doesn't supply one, and want to get something that isn't going to fry the internals!

Better get an Anker USB charger with PowerIQ, which works well to quick charge SP1000 and SP2000. I use such an Anker charger for several years now for charging my A&K DAPs. It works fine and I never had any problems with it. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=anker+usb+poweriq&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

If it was me I wouldn't spend more money trying to get the sp1000 to sp2000 level (which imo it won't reach) meanwhile also making it bulkier, unless you actually need more power for a specific application.
Money is the issue, but you know you want the sp2000, the new ak4499eq 4channel current output dacs from AKM are their biggest innovation since they introduced their velvet sound architecture 5 years ago.
In saying that, the sp2000 is still only an incremental improvement over the sp1000 in terms of sound, increased tech specs can only do so much, the sp1000 is the by-product of years of AK's big budget experience and fine tuning, there really is not much room for improvement and the sp2000 is proof of that.
So no you don't need the sp2000, but I know you and I both can't help wanting one, bwahaha. Actually I'm more of an SP1000M person, I don't like carrying big heavy things around, so I won't be interested until there is an SP2000M.
(if anyone is interested in buying my hugely discounted SP1000 or SP1000M send me a PM).
Just got a brand new SP1000.
How long shall we burn in the DAP until we can notice improvement in sound?
Also, my cable is terminated in 4.4mm balanced, any good recommendation to get a 4.4mm to 2.5mm balanced adapter?
