Anyone have a reliable, and tested suggestion for a 9V/1.67A fast charger for SP1000M/SP1000? Noticed A&K doesn't supply one, and want to get something that isn't going to fry the internals!

Would recommend a Qualcomm certified Quickcharge 2.0 or 3.0 charger for best results.

I'm considering an amp for my sp1000 too. Or do I sell the sp1000 and get the sp2000?

I went the amp route. If you have cans that the SP1000 doesn't power well, it will still sound underpowered. It will be an improvement with cans, just don't have high expectations with something hard to drive.

My SP1000 just got a new companion received today: a ZMF Verite Closed hadphone. Will the ZMF replace my Shure KSE1500 ?

But Am I the only one finding the ZMF almost "underpowered" by the SP1000 ? an Amp or upgrade to SP2000 may be necessary...

The amp will definitely help. I've got the SP1000 w/ amp, and my ZMF Eikons sound anemic without the amp. The amp bumps up their performance to what it should be--more on par with my desktop rigs.

However, it also turns the SP1000 into a heavy brick. Previous comment about SPK+amp being "transportable" rather than "portable" was spot-on. The value of this combos is being able to take virtually any headphones on-the-go and get the best out of them. I also have SPKM for pure portability w/ IEMs.

I have another quick question related to the power adapters - if you don’t mind? I’m based in California, but I travel fairly frequently. Am I correct in my assumption that by using the correct wall adapter, I could use your recommended power adapter in other countries?

yes, just make sure a charger model that you buy has Input Voltage: 110～240V AC written on it

ZMF's Verite Closed sound stage expand well when using my micro Tube amp Oriolus in full balanced mode. Obviously the Verite Closed likes tubes ! Nice finding..... and a proof that the AK SP1000 is underpowered for the VC.

may be no need for the AK SP1000 amp module or wait for the iBasso dx220MAX ?

well, the SP1000 do not lack sound volume with the VC, but sound stage; The volume is loud enough but... congested.

With the SP1000 amp’ it should be OK.

All of a sudden my 2.5 jack started to need a slightyl touch/push to work with right channel towards the screen....

Anything i can do to make it work?

happened twice with my sp1000 and both times they replaced the whole jack module (with 2.5 and 3.5 mm)
