Nice to see that the process has evolved to the point we’re the cooper is holding up much better than the AK380 cooper.
I owned the 380 and frankly hated how much I had to treat it in order to keep it looking new. I still won’t take a risk with cooper, unless AK came out and said it won’t tarnish at all, ever and plus, I like the stainless sound sig most.

@JasonNYC we would really appreciate if there was an official communication on the new quality of copper like the one made with the DAP AK120 TITAN :

As you can see we have been like traumatized with the tarnishing of the AK380 CU and AMP CU.
It would be very appreciated to get an official communication from Astell&Kern. I'm still afraid of Copper versions ... an official communication would help to jump.

Mine is nearing 2 years and no tarnishing signs too so I am not sure what the fuss is it about this tarnishing or having user replaceable batteries in the DAP.

This is the one reason why I went with SS even though I think the copper looks better. Nothing to do with sq as I don't notice a difference.

Great buy, enjoyed every moment with the sp1000ss.
I would agree the copper looks more premium and the black as well, stealthy (perfect match for the blue/black carbon back).
Unfortunate for me, having to afford only an used unit, material selection is not an option for me.
