This hasn't always been the case in my experience with AK for instance the "AK380" single ended sounded better. But on the SP1000, balanced running away.

I prefer using 3.5mm unbalanced to 2.5mm balanced. But problem is not balanced or unbalanced. 2.5mm connection does not seem to have enough contact surface.
I have JHAudio's LaylaⅡ and Roxanne Ⅱ, both have the same 2.5mm balanced and 3.5mm unbalanced cable from moon audio.So I compared both cables with
my SP1000CP and SS. In orchestral music, the strong sound seem to be weakened with 2.5mm. It is not problem of power. Maybe transient, sharp rising sound.
2.5mm balanced sound seems to be cleaner and sound stage seems to be clearer. But I think energy of sound is more important. So I use only 3.5mm.

I'm downloading firmware 1.13CM which includes MQA support. This popped up after I connect to wifi. Anyone try MQA files yet from tidal?

Mine doesnt show MQA letter. I dont know which spec (bit rate or sampling fr) will be shown as mqa

My MQA files are ripped from MQA-CD, and Tags are restored with MQA Tag Restorer. Of course not only display.
The wide soundstage and the quality of sound is that of true MQA. With Audirvana Plus ( for Windows PC) and iFIaudio microIDSD
BL, I often listen to ripped MQA files. And without that button in USB audio menu, MQA decode is already effective. If you make the button effective, you can core-decode out the MQA signal.

I try tracks with "M" marked in tidal server. They are now streaming at hifi mode, not hires to sp1000.
So MQA/Master mode is no mean till now ( I dont wanna turn on my laptop and use tidal's own sw)

@JasonNYC: Do you maybe have info why APK does not work yet, since on the android phones with MQA support tidal APK works with master? Since having MQA and not having offline mode (which is only reserved for APK) is again limited use Thanks for feedback in advance.

Tidal downloaded files << purchased Flac (24bit, 44.1khz).

I am noticing that purchased FLACs sound so much better than downloaded Tidal files on my SP1000cu. Tidal just sounds less "clarity" (more noisy)??? I can listen to my purchased version from another site of the same song over and over again; so addictive but don't get the same pleasure from Tidal.

Do you have the same experience? Just wondering if Tidal downloads are just of lower quality like 16bit?

If you use a service with features like Tidal but has better sound quality, please share. Thanks in advance!
