Thanks. That clears my doubt. Another thing, Don't know if you can answer this but How is it compared to NAD HP50, PSB M4U1, KEF M500 ?

Sorry I have not tried those but I would like to try the NAD VISO HP50.

Anyone go back to the stock cord? I find it way less fatiguing, and very comfortable even at high sound levels. The bass is better for rap & electronic music too imo. All in all I found I find it more enjoyable these days

Just a quick update on the just cause cable tour: Cables are going out tomorrow to the first person. There are still two open slots for anyone interested. Since the list has been made, anyone else that adds now will be placed at the end of the list.

That's what I've been saying.

People who called the stock cable craptacular without even trying it must be joking or they're just going by word of mouth. Yes, it's a little high on the impedance but it doesn't really rob the X1's signature. Sigh.

i am disappointed with X1... :frowning2:
I had it for one day and tested

Guitar sounds ugly on it..really ugly
mids are average
Bass is good
Highs are good

they cost 250 Euros and 140 Euro DT 990 PRos just destroy them in every aspect

Beyer is Comfy
Detailed sound
better kickbass
lot better mids
lil worse highs

They need burn in imo and amping and I have seen people selling beyer dt770 dt 880 and dt990 hd600 hd650 and keeping the x1.
Gets so confusing really I hate that we cant try headphones in shops anymore the price we pay for online shopping I'd love to be able to compare to beyers etc but cant.

Black sabbath sounds great to me certainly better than the sennheiser momentum which are almost double the price I had, which had a more crystal clear punchy timbre and sparkly highs but not as good musically or warm sounding.
I suspect the dt990 have that crisp clean sound too ? this is what I realized that it's better to have rolled off highs and mids because it makes everything less fatiguing.

People looking for that ultra tight bass timbre and sparkly crisp highs should stay away from these.

Headphones are just half of the story, other half is amp/dac...

Mine sound underwhelming and muddy coming form a xonar dx it's analogue out is just standard 100ohm they only come alive when I use the fiio e6 + xonar
Plan on getting either an eph-02 or fiio e09k, in uk beyer dt990 pro are like £130-£140 compared to x1 £150-£175 got mine for £165.

I don't care what the stats or experts say x1 need an amp I had to up the volume more on the e6 compared to my higher ohm ns1000 (300ohm) so to say these sound amazing without an amp might not be true to everyones ears.
