Been enjoying my X1s and finally got the extra doe to get myself a Fiio E07K. Not sure if it will play nice with my GS3 or not, but at least I can use it with my computer. if anyone observing this thread uses a GS3 with this model, or knows someone that has a one that works with E07K, please let me know. Yes, people have reported that it works, but I'm not sure if you need a special cable.

I don't think it was the X1 that was on sale.  It was probably the L1.  I've made the mistake before and actually called Amazon about it and boy was I embarrassed.

Think I'll stick with the X1's though and quit with the choices as I've been weighing in for like 2 years before I broke down and bought a set I hear the HE-400's are heavy! Just hope the X1 can take some (not a huge amount) of beating as I'll be traveling with em.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yeah, I think it does require one. Just not even close to being 100% sure which one to use. A bunch of conflicting and confusing info that I've seen out there. I don't intend to use the E07K as an amp with the phone (don't want to double amp) just the dac part.

If your source is a computer USB, possibly the Dragonfly.  Just dropped from $250 to $99.  Killer bargain.

Going to use it primarily on PC, but some on the iPad and a little on the SGSIII. They sell the Dragonfly for $150-200 here. You don't think E07K wil give more for the money as it is bigger and battery-powered?

Modi takes $35 for shipping so I think that's ruled out. Do you think the HiFiMe DAC is enough?
