NEW Monolith M570 Over Ear Open Back Planar Headphone

The ringing is due to the plastic backplate inside the earpads....all the mono planars from M570 backwards have this issue - overdamped outside or/and plastic earpad mounts causing ringing reflections.
Get these instead...you can stretch them on...not as thick or angled hence won't sound as V-shaped vs stock pads....fenestrated only in the earhole.
$10 done deal....comfy as stock.

Personally I don't experience any ringing with M570, but will give these a shot at $10 for sure. Thanks for sharing!

Do you think those pads fit correctly on the Aiva?

Sorry not sure, did not get my hands on those.

OT but regarding that earpad for other cans....
Same pads above fit on M565C, they kind of 'trumpet' off the edges though once the oval backs are glued on baffle (velcro picked off baffle first to get a proper seal).
M565C is a very fast and easy mod - unscrew cups remove one oval of felt off rear of driver ( another one behind, leave that on - sound leakage is about same as TH-X00/D5K etc now)
3 loose cuts of foam in cup, glue largest oval to interior wall of cup inside with pritt stick etc vs it just flopping around loose inside and put the largest disc of foam behind earpads in front of driver to take edge off treble.
DONE.

I also stripped my cups back to zebrano with a multilayer clear lacquer seal after that, but they are not matched/bookended...bah, who cares !
Can do same stain removal with M570, but trickier teardown, need a '6 pointed star style' screwdriver to remove grill etc..
One 565C for me, one for a friend....this can flew under the radar last 2 years or so,I think.

Same issue is fixed on the HF-580 by cutting a foam ring to put around the driver, though I assume the M570 is better housed and the same resonance is reaching the plastic backplate on the earcups before becoming an issue.

No, there is a gap as its not locked hard on the baffle, hence at the ring's resonant ringing frequency, it gives certain musical note hits a LOT more decay...haha !

Edit : gotcha, you are talking about how the driver is mounted.

So would this bring the mids up? Love the comparison against aeon. I love my m570 so much. I just feel for $200 against lcd, aeon, hifiman, these get me where I want to be. I was just talking about the other day trying to neutralize the tonality bc I would like more mids.

Usually, yes, deeper pads tend to bring out a V-shape and vice versa (though not so much if they really collapse down on the head).
