Hello, i'm kurt91, and im into reference headphones. I have a pair of LCD-Xs. I like the info and inventory on this site. Im looking to learn more about the best type of amps for reference headphones and buy some. Also looking to share my experiences and hear from others.
Welcome =) Studio Reference Headphones are pretty much the best that exists! At least in my opinion, you will find enough people who disagree with that. But here you found at least one who agrees :D

Welcome to Head-Fi,

I prefer having multiple flavors of sound to choose from, yet everyone has their own preferences in sound. There is no right or wrong way to enjoy this hobby, and I am sure you will find more people who have similar tastes to your own. There are plenty of helpful members on this forum with a wealth of knowledge to share. I am looking forward to seeing you around the many threads I follow on Head-Fi.

Happy Listening!

Hey everyone on Head-Fi!

Just wanted to quickly introduce myself before diving into reviews and discussions. I've been a long-time lurker here, but I'm finally ready to jump into the English-speaking side of the audio community! I'm FlyShadowing, and I've actually been pretty active on various Chinese audio forums for years, sharing my thoughts and experiences there.

My journey into audio started quite practically from >10 years ago, and recently has transitioned into needing good IEMs for part-time gigs playing at a music bar. That led me down this rabbit hole, and I've really grown to love exploring different gear. I tend to prefer a warmer, more musical sound signature, which you'll probably gather from my future posts.

Looking forward to connecting with you all and learning a ton!

Thank you Vamp898. I am interested in learning more about the other types of headphones and why people choose them, but personally I am more about details and clarity over spectacle.

I do understand both sides. I owned a lot of audiophile Headphones/Earphoens and some of them are really fun to listen to. But there is always that one song that just doesn't sound right. That never happens with an Reference Monitor so i personally settled on these. But i understand the appeal of things that are not ""flat""

Oh yes, I know what you're describing. I remember listening to my first pair of beats a long time ago and thinking I was having some next level audio experience. But when you understand what's happening technically, the drama is gone. At the audiophile level, it's about precision and clarity in my mind. At this point, I just cannot comprehend how you could have the neutral response that allows every element/instrument to be recognized while also having emphasis in particular frequencies to get that "spectacle factor". To me, that means you're not getting the full experience.

Hey all!
I decided to finally join headfi as I've found myself scouring through different threads for info and reviews all too often..

I bought my first pair of iems last year, and I've fallen down the rabbit hole of chifi and other bits and bobs. My first DAP (snowsky echo mini) is arriving any day now and I can't wait to transfer my library over and try out my new 4.4mm cable.

Thanks!!

Hi everyone, I've been lurking these forums for years now. Case in point I bought my first pair of IEMs the Sennheiser IE80 more than 10 years ago from a review over here. I've been rocking those on and off since then and now I feel they're due for replacement. I'm not looking to splurge but something that'll last. I feel that the older I get I have less time to tinker around but rather enjoy the moments. So with that out of the way my current setup is a FiiO BTR3 hooked up to my Senny via a custom 3.5mm silver cable, forgot where I got that from.

Now I'm looking for a replacement IEM that has excellent soundstage and a balanced sound signature, nothing too fancy. I've realized at this point the IEM scene has multiplied exponentially and I'm really at a loss due to the immense options out there. There are too many rabbit holes this time around so appreciate any guidance from this crowd.

Cheers!!

Hello everyone. I'm getting back into headphones and associated headphone amplifiers, DACs, etc. One of my internet searches led me here. My last sets of headphones were Pioneer SE-505's & SE-L40 phones. I'm really out of touch with any "modern" headphones. I'm hoping to learn some things. I honestly can't remember the last time I used headphones for "home" listening. I have earbuds that I use while exercising and at work, but I don't classify those as real listening. Glad to be here.

Hello everyone,

My name is André but I go by Andreas.

I've been a DJ, producer, and critical listener, since 1996. Along the way I picked up skills as a sound engineer. Since 2025 I dabble in pre-engineering hybrid audio devices, and I hope to work in this field soon. It started when I invented the "Universal Cable & Connector Designation" codex for audio cables, soon after came ideas for hybrid devices, they just pop up in my brain. In the last 48h alone I worked out 9 inventions, and there's more where that came from.

I joined this forum to connect to people, in the hopes to learn even more.

Music Runs Deep, and I hope you do too.

Peace out ✌️😎
