Pssssst, If you like deeeep bass, use a little bit of eq
Yes and no. I agree because EQ is an easy way to get more bass, but it is an very unreliable and inconsistent way to get more bass.

Some DAPs do support it, some only very limited, some dont. Some not with external USB and so on.

Also, if the IEM doesn't have the hardware to back it up, you risk distortion.

But if you have an good EQ, an IEM with the hardware that does not fall apart when using EQ, that is actually the cheapest and best way to get exactly the sound you want.

A huge YES from my side:

My 2005er ipods offers "more" bass. And he delivers...

(to be fair: rookie-science, just kidding...)

You are right, these conditions should be met to have success. Missing technicalities still are missing after eqing xD
I had good experiences eqing to get more out of the headies, especially adapting to my own ear geometry.
I go with uapp-tonebooster parametric eq- mojo 2 and tidal hi res.

Hey y'all. I'm Jimm. I'm hoping to understand this crazy world of IEMs, especially one specific application & use. The vast majority of my listening is live music, a lot of which I record myself. The goal for every show I tape is to capture & reproduce the music with as much sonic authenticity as possible, or at least as much as my budget allows!
Is there a manufacturer who focuses on live recording or maybe specific IEMs known to exceling with it?
Thank you so much for any help!

Hi folks.

Glad to be able to join the forums.

I intend to share some of my experiences with so-called "fitness earphones" -- that is, earphones designed to be worn when doing physical training, be it running, gym-based training (such as weight training), or any other kind of training.

Many of my favourite options are no-longer in production, which is a real shame.

I intend to make some informative posts, with pictures (taken from my collection) and observations.

All the best.

Hi everyone! I am new to the forum! Read a couof thread, the community seems great!

I just bought a used Chord Poly to go with my mojo2. I have a small problem with DLNA indexing files on a micro SD card but will read more about it here before posting a question.

I own Meze classic 99, listen mainly to classical and old rock.

Greetings.
Due to preferred listening volumes, late nights and neighbours, I'm taking the plunge into headphones.

After listening to the Sennheiser Orpheus headphones at an exhibition in the early 90's I've tended to stick with £50 budget Sennheiser headphones paired with an iPod at work, but have now decided to improve the quality somewhat and have just purchased the HD650.

I needed a headphone amp to replace my main system amp, so after reading this forum for the last couple of weeks, I thought the Schiit Vali 3 looked fun as I've always wanted to try tubes. I've started playing with this new concept of tube rolling and whilst the sound is great with some types of music (Jazz, blues, female vocals, trip hop), it's deeply lacking in others (rock, prog rock, metal), so find myself in need of advice.
Was thinking of heading off to the "Schiit Vali 3 : Impressions Thread" for it.

System is currently Mac mini (iTunes Apple Lossless files) > arcam rdac > Schiit Vali 3 with GE 5670 2C51 Valve 5* Black Plates Triple Mica Square Getter > HD650

Thanks

Hello,

My name is Jeff and I've recently rejoined. I have a two channel speaker system, and I'm considering a headphone amp. I own the Focal Utopia, the Sony MD Z1R, and the Mest MkIII iems. I was reading about the Cayin HA 300B MkII and was intrigued that there are speaker posts because you can use the unit as an 8W pc 300B amp. Has anyone had speaker experience with this Cayin? My holy grail would be to add good ‘phones PLUS a good 300B tube amp to pair with my Zu Audio Druids.

Excited to read about products, opinions and Q&A like mine.

Happy weekend!

Hi everyone, I am taeyeong and new to headfi. I am into IEMs and also a producer in real life. It has been a pleasure to be able to join this community and share our journey together in music and gear.

I see you're a fan of Taeyeon :) She's also great Kpop artist and I listen to her music as well :)

My personal advice, invest all your money into the receiver. Buy the best Headphones/Earphone/IEM you want and improve everything else afterwards.
