Unfortunately, yes. You can use iTunes to rip to single file and EAC to create the cue file. It's a pain in the butt, but I'm REALLY fussy about gapless and I will go to these lengths to achieve it. In my experience, only Sony and Apple players achieve true seamless gapless playback of separate tracks. I resort to the above routine to play mixed albums on my qp1r.
Alternatively, there's a program called Hydrogen Audio Joiner which can produce single files and cue sheets from tracks ripped separately.
Just tried a transition of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" from 'On the Run' to 'Time', and it worked fine, with no audio gap. My AK70 has gapless turned on, which shows up as a G (underlined and overlined) on the top line of the player. The files are 24bit / 88.2 kHz that were converted from an SACD rip.I'd still like to hear more about everyone's impressions about whether the AK 70 does gapless properly, especially while playing high-res. When I tested it at the store it didn't get consistent result. Please advise thanks.
Please can you provide me details where I can get ak70 and chord mojo dac combo case to buy?
The case is made by Dignis. It's called: [AVEC] AK70 + MOJO CASE.Please can you provide me details where I can get ak70 and chord mojo dac combo case to buy?
Anyone have an experience where the AK70 shows duplicate copies of songs in it's database when there is actually only one copy of the songs. I had my AK70 do this several times, mostly in an artist album in a separate fold. One time it showed duplicate songs in all five albums in separate folders under a higher artist folder. It may be doing this when I select play all songs in the folder.
It is annoying to fix. I have to delete the songs from inside the AK70 and then copy songs back into the folder.
If anyone has seen this or heard about it and knows how to prevent it, please let know.
Thanks,
Fred

A manual rescan of media files should fix any duplicate song info on the player. To do a manual media scan - settings, Default Settings, Initiate Media Scan. Do not check the "Clear Playlists" box if you have playlists on the player that you want to keep. Checking the box will delete any playlists stored on the player.
Try an app called Dapper. It is the easiest way I have found (so far) to sync Itunes playlists to DAPs. There are a few threads here dedicated to it, and the developer posts regularly.I know this has been discussed, but does anyone have a simple way to transfer playlists from iTunes to the AK70? Or, barring that, to create them from scratch? The solutions I've seen involve a lot of complex file editing.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Hello all,
This is my first post in this group - I just signed in to share a problem I have with my AK70.
I bought it one year ago, I have liked it ever since. However in the last 4 weeks the battery started to be swollen. So much that it opened the back cover (which is only set in place by two screws on one end). During the last week the opening has grown a lot.
I learned that a swollen battery is not a good thing and I just might need to get rid of the AK70.
Has somehting like this ever happened to any of you? I will post a couple of pictures as soon as I learn how to do it.
Thanks
Marcelo
