Okay...theoretically if "some company" was considering developing pads for the hifiman series/he400 would there be a wish list of criteria that you'd like to see in the production of them?

Things to consider:

*pad material (ie velour, leather pleather

*depth

*price point

*inner diameter of the pad

Pipe in!! Don't be shy.

Easily washable.

Reasonable international shipping.

Labelled Left and Right like the AKG K550 pads ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/visuellegedanken/6882852138/ )
- maybe in a slightly different location due to the different design of the HE-400s

Of course, I don't even have my pair of HE-400's yet, but I'm liking the look of angled pads. Based on listening to the HD598, I do like velour as material. I'm not too big on the way left and right looks on the K550's. Price should be proportional to how much it costs to make.

Pointless; Hifiman cans already have clearly labeled L/R on its joint.

I this works out, and I don't know if it will, what about the possibility of some sort of group buy at a promotional price??

I'd be in. I just hope it wouldn't take 12 weeks to get them... 6 weeks is acceptable, especially for something that's not even in production yet.

Now that I've got these bad boys back up and running I gotta say I still love the sound. It's also a plus that I now have a bifrost/asgard compared to the E17 I had before my first pair died. Here's to hoping these ones stay good for their lifetime.
@Jerg...have you had any experience with the he4 pads?

I would be down to do that.
