New Hidizs AP200 double DAC Android-based smart music player

Thanks guys, no is a totally ok answer too!!! I have been reading about how most android players will downsample to 48khz unless you are in the main music app (3rd party apps will use default music driver instead and thus be forced to downsample everything) This is remedied by fiio in the X5iii by redesigning the way android handles music. No mention in regards to the ap200

Why do you think Hidizs spent 2 years on developing it?

You mean, Hiby spent 2 years developing and finetuning this firmware with FiiO, Cayin, and now implementing a finished mature release with Hidizs ;)

Hmm, I'm curious about this DAP---I do wish it had two SD card slots though, like the X5III.

What processor is used in this device, and what specifically was done at the development level to ensure that all audio (even from 3rd party Android apps like Tidal( will be processed through the dual dac system?

THIS is a different question than you first asked. In your first question you did not mention "when using 3rd party apps". You made a blanket statement about the DAP resampling to 16/48....

I suspect there is no DAP that will work perfectly with all 3rd Party Apps.... Poor Quality Apps, and Apps written for newer versions of Android could be a problem for sure.

But believe I read review where a 3rd party app was used with no problem... Though still all reviewers are on Early versions of the firmware...

@Hidizs Hk Have you tested the AP200 with some 3rd party Audio Player Apps ? If so, do you have a list of some that work properly with the AP200 ? (At least in the version that you tried...)
Specifically Can you confirm that the AP200 will play at same sampling rates as the original Music File; when using 3rd party player Apps.

The Hiby part of it is fairly mature, most glitches I've seen are with the hardware buttons and integration, but I hope that those will be easily sorted out by Hidizs.

Don't have ap200 to judge its overall performance and I'm well aware there are glitches based on Chris/HBB videos; I'm just drawing a conclusion based on dual mode of operation (android and pure music) which Hiby perfected with releases of other manufacturers.

Okay so have my Hidizs AP200 SS player,

Really nice build quality to it and weight. Screen is excellent in use.
The sound is very smooth and detailed using a selection of mid to high end iems.
Power is okay to good for all my iems just enough power on tap.

Onto issues whilst using hiby player built in forward track and rewind track not as smooth as it could be onscreen. The volume sometimes goes up then all the way down to zero had to power off and restart.
But for the money a superb player of which i am very happy.

@Hidizs Hk need to get more screen protectors and if possible a leather case in Black colour when will these be available? Thank you

I did a vid today and only realized it was seeing just the internal memory about 10 minutes in. I rebooted and it was still not showing the SD card. Rebooted again and Hiby crashed and asked me if I wanted to wait or close. Did it all on cam and was losing my cool. Rebooted and it saw everything.
The device still has a beta fw and when a fw has the name beta in it I am gonna expect it to act less than optimal. Joe bloggs is with them now and he is solid so I am sure it will be polished.
Sound is excellent. love it. Hiby player in black and gold is gorgeous, contrast is superb.

My Hidizs sees internal and external sd as two separate sources not one mixed is that the same for you?
I concur with you Hiby looks excellent on this player as for the sound super detail and generally very smooth with all iems i have tried.

Looking forward to your video review on it don't loose your cool although 15 takes later i can probably see why ( my volume kept resetting to zero ) .
