Received tracking number. I jumped the gun too soon about Burson : "2019-12-16 23:42 Shipment information sent to FedEx".

So indeed, it was shipped before december 20th.

Time for the long wait now o.o ...
I know what you mean. my delivery was supposed to be yesterday (Thurs), then got pushed to today...and finally rescheduled for Monday, 23rd.
On top of that, FedEx tracking has been really screwed up (showing the package in Japan and California at the same time).
FedEx was definitely over-optimistic about a three day delivery from Hong Kong to the US. But tracking finally updated and shows it in-country with a Monday "scheduled" delivery.
With all the holiday craziness, we will see...

Cheers and Still Waiting...:beerchug:

P.S. - NOT Burson's fault.

My C3X did about 2...2.5 days till Europe (Koeln, DE), which is quite impressively fast for an over 5 Kg package; however, I do hope I'll be getting mine next week on Tuesday.

Interesting is the fact that FEDEX Customs already told me that shipping price (which is missing from the invoice, because it's free for the customer, but still need to pay taxes for this shipping too) has been estimated to 267.23 USD, so a very expensive shipping I'd say.

Like you guys, I'm looking further for my Christmas present. :)

Wow, I guess US Customs knows to put the toys back in the box!

Funny thing is, they opened the bottom of the box for an "Agriculture Inspection". I guess the bottom is where the "Agriculture" is supposed to be hidden.

No harm, no foul though. Since I was checking things out, I decided to do some quick unboxing pictures. I'm sorry for some of the pictures being fuzzy; old phone, poor camera.

*Note to Burson*: If you are going to change your warranty, please update your box printing...

Four additional OpAmps (for troubleshooting according to Burson): Power Brick and Cable (power brick is for all voltages); TINY little Remote (cute!): USB Cable, USB A to USB C adapter; and finally a small screwdriver to access the inside for OpAmp rolling.

There is no manual provided in the box, but it can be found on Burson's website:

https://www.bursonaudio.com/downloads/

It's the second manual on the list.

Can't wait to get listening!

Cheers and All the Best! :beerchug:

You lucky person! :gs1000smile:

I guess that makes you the first head-fier with a C3X, so no more presents from Santa for you this year. :)

As usually, looking further for more impressions and, if possible, some sound compare tests (even A/B test, if you can do it).

Happy listening, mate!

My Burson Conductor 3X arrived tonight here in Colorado (Hanukkah surprise from the hubby!). Setup was easy and I'm enjoying the sound both using USB as well as Bluetooth sources (I tried my Google Pixel 3a and my MacBook Pro running macOS 10.14.6).

The Conductor 3X seems to negotiate LDAC over Bluetooth which sounds just fine to my ears. Interestingly, my USB sources show PCM 44k on the display, where Bluetooth LDAC shows PCM 96k.

I assume this is the same with both the Conductor 3 and 3X, but I was a bit surprised that even though the Conductor 3X has a USB-C connection in the back, you simply cannot plug in USB-C devices directly to it — neither my Google Pixel 3a nor my MacBook Pro worked with a USB-C to USB-C cable. I contacted Burson support and they explained you have to plug in the provided USB-C to USB-A adapter to the source device, then connect the adaptor to the Conductor using the provided USB-A to USB-C cable. This allowed both my Google and Apple devices to play audio over USB. I'm not quite sure what's going on there, but I can probably deal.

Happy holidays, all!

WARNING FOR YOU LOW IMPEDANCE HEADPHONE AND IEM USERS!!!

The Conductor 3X default setting for headphone output is HIGH GAIN! I plugged my Meze Empyreans in and started my first song at zero volume. Turning it up to "01", the music was very loud, almost to my discomfort level. I'm afraid if I had turned it to "02", it would have blown my headphones or my ears! First thing after powering on the 3X, go into settings and select "HEAOUT" (headphone output)...the mute function on the volume knob also acts as a select button...the little cursor will appear next to "High". Use the volume knob to turn it to "Low", then click the select button again to set it. Pushing the settings button will get you out of that menu.

There was no manual in my box and I thought you might like to save your headphones/iem's and/or ears from damage.

You can download the Ver 1.1 Manual for the Conductor 3X in the Burson Audio Website. Hope this helps...

Cheers and Enjoy the Music!:beerchug:

I did earlier this morning. Seeing as how its probably midnight there, I should maybe get a reply this evening. Have you listened to yours yet? Im curious how it sounds. I've had the Burson HA-160DS since 2012 and have loved it.
I have it burning in right now. It didn't sound great when I first started it but it seems to be opening up nicely. I'll give it a day or two before doing any critical listening.

Received mine today. Only a few hours of listening, but so far, I have to say that indeed, the pairing with the AKG K812 is pretty good. The K812 need something to show its "true self" : detail, airy sound, speed, great imaging, and this presence in the sub-basses with just enough kick. The Conductor 3X really let the K812 express itself.

I'm using it with a JF DIGITAL MX-1PRO streamer, through coaxial. My previous set-up was with the Audio-GD Master 11 Singularity (NOS mode - HDMI I2S). This set-up was warmer, with a bit more mid basse, but narrower soundstage, and less details.

My only complain so far, is the USB input. I had a very hard time making it work with my windows 10 PC (had to restart PC / Conductor 3X before finally earing something). I also have an Oppo Reno and couldn't use USB OTG to connect to the Conductor 3X. I tried with the USB-A to USB-C adapter, with other cables, no success. Same results when I tried to connect it to my streamer with USB. it seems that I'll mostly use optical/coaxial for now ...
