I have really been enjoying the ANV. I was shocked so many people were selling other headphones like the T1, but now I completely understand the reasoning.
Totally agree. I think the bass got deeper and more extended with a very nice balance compared to the rest of the other frequencies. I really like this cans

Ha, I felt the same way. Of course there were just many glowing impressions when they were release, but I decided to wait until the fotm status went away. But then people started selling some really good headphones I hold in high regard, so I decided to go ahead and take the plunge and haven't looked back. I've now sold my stax rig(407, T1S) and don't miss them at all, although I would like to step up the to 507's one day. The 407 were technically better, but the w3000anv are just so much more musical and the perfect compliment to my he-6 and jh13. My heavily modded d7k's are also on the chopping block. These headphones are really special IMO.
I was one of the "earlier" adopters and paid 1318 shipped for mine, and even after the amazon deal, I'm still feel like it was a bargain.
The headphone out of the YDA-02 is not too bad sounding but a tad thin. Since the YDA-02 is solid state, it sounded not as lush and full as the the HA-02 which IMO is also better in tonality. Somehow the YDA-02 retained the midrange emphasis and pleasant sound signature of other Yamamoto products. The thin sound can somewhat be improved by upgrading the usb power supply to an external power adapter.
YDA-02 drives the ATH-W3000 pretty loud when the volume marker is at the halfway mark. Oh yes, you need to get a 1/4 inch to 3.5mm adapter since the ATH-W3000 does not come with one.
If money is no object, the Yamamoto YDA-01B pairing with HA-02 is still strongly recommended.
Congratulations. = ) I don't know about end games, but I'm enjoying very much too... Experiencing familiar songs in all new way. And the bass is amazing with right songs, it's all there as much as needed.
Thanks! Not to be misunderstood with games. Just trying to say, a finalized setup I am happy with. The Svetlana 2 was the missing component for me, but not anymore
Oh, I am so jealous right now, your rig is actually the "game" I am aiming for now, only difference is that I want to get Anedio D2 DAC instead of your D1. And I would like to complement Svetlana 2 with some other amps as well, possibly with Yamamoto HA-02 (maybe even Zana Deux SE, but thats very expensive) and possibly some solid state (HA5000/HA5000ANV would be great but I am not sure I want to deal with step-down converters). But my primary goal now is to get D2 DAC -> Svetlana 2 (or Yamamoto HA-02, will need to do more research on differences between those two) -> W1000X/W3000ANV .
I would have gotten a D2 if I didn't had the D1 first. In all regard I think the D1 is very good already in its own right. From preliminary impressions for those who have the D2 it seems to be a improvement in certain area's. My priority was to get the Svetlana 2 first. Though I never heard the HA-02 personally I think it could be quite a different approach in presentation. I hope others could post more impressions of the HA-02 pairing with W3000ANV if that is any help for you. But ultimately you should like the 'sound' yourself.
