New DENON "Music Maniac" & "Urban Raver" Lines: D7100, D600, D400 & C300 Impressions Thread

Please, owners of D600 and D400, compare them to the old Denon line D5000 and D2000. The world needs to know!

I can't believe nobody has done this yet. After all the controversy regarding the new designs and saying Denon was emulating Beats by Dre.

We really need to have that comparison done.

Also, if anyone is from Chicago and knows a good place to audition or buy good headphones, please let me know, as I'll be visting the windy city soon.

I don't really see how these headphones look like the Beats, maybe it's cause they're trying to style for the 20 year olds that makes people think that.

It sounds like the D600 and D7100 are extremely bright... This rules them out for me... Looks like it is between the Fidelio F1 and the D400

I'd wait for the X1, that or even get both.

LOL, so you gather all this from written word from someone else ears?

I kinda see your point. But then when you really think- what's the point of this whole forum?

I still can't understand why people say D600 are bright while DT990 or T70p are

Because there's still lots of room for brightness in between "neutral" & DT990/T70p ^^ On a scale of 1 - 10 and 1 being neutral and 10 the brightest, those DT990/T70p might be say a 9 but Denons might be a 4 - 5 perhaps. Then it's down to us invidually to decide whereabouts goes my own tolerance & preference, some people might be looking for lvl1 brightness, others maybe for level 6.

But you can easily reduce it using EQ while it's not the case with DT990

Why are you even bothering making these silly comments? If you don't want to read other people opinions of headphones to get an idea of what they sound like before buying them, then don't bother posting on this forum and just go and buy headphones and listen to them instead...

If you don't think reading multiple peoples comments saying "these are brighter than xxx headphones" gives you a good idea then you are being silly. Please dont LOL at me for reading peoples comments... Unfortunately I cannot afford / do not have the time to just buy any pair of headphones at random and then keep returning them / selling them on .... So I read other peoples comments on them before buying... That is the whole point of this forum so don't make stupid comments please.

DT990 and t70p are incredibly bright, sibilant and harsh.... This does not mean that other headphones might be marginally less bright and siblilant but still too much for me... The DT990 for me is like someone is stabbing me in the ear.

D600 are far away from DT990 something similar to D7000
