Was sad to see that both my ear pads on the D600 ripped on the seams today after after a few months of non-usage. Was wondering if anybody ever replaced these? Searched high & low to no avail. Was wondering if the lawton pads or audeze ear pads could fit the d600, they do look handsome. Thanx in advance guys.

The D600 pads are probably the same as the D7100 pads.
Contact your local distributor, they can get them.
I ordered two extra pairs and an extra cable for my D7100 that way.
Mind you, Denon parts don't come cheap though!
The Lawton pads won't fit, they're for the D2000/5000/7000 and TH-900 models, meaning round. Your D600 like the D7100 has oval(ish) pads.

Did you sell your TH900s for these. How do the D7100s compare to the TH900s? I personally didn't think they could compete with the TH900s (listened to the D7100s awhile ago) but I'm curious what you thought.

I like the D7100 though and really don't understand all the D7100 bashing in some threads and reviews.
For example, they beat the B&W P7 with ease, which is as it should be considering the price difference. Still, that doesn't explain why there isn't much P7 bashing.
Just don't A/B them with a TH-900, they're no match. The best way for me to describe it is that when compared directly with a TH-900 they sound distant.
Oh, and they're just about the most comfortable pair of full-size cans I ever had on my head.

Just to make sure I read that correctly, you're saying the TH900 are better than the 7100? When I listened to the 7100s, I felt the TH900s were better.

Yea, denon really did nail the comfort. The d600& 7100 are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn, and double as stylish ear muffs.

In my first sentence, I was asking you a question to verify that I read what you wrote correctly.  In my second sentence, I was giving you my own opinion on those two headphones.

Would agree with the bashing statement as it relates to the value proposition of these headphones -- especially if you're looking for this type of sound signature.
 
While my experience is related to the D600s, it sounds like it applies to the D7100s as well.
 
As a long-time DT770 owner, I had gotten to the point where I wanted a little deeper, tighter bass, better mid and treble clarity (without bleeding ears!), and a more balanced presentation...but only wanted to spend $200 or less!  I did my 'Head-Fi Research' and was coming up with the usual suspects SZ1000s, Pro700s, Q40s, M100s (used), etc.  Was having trouble pulling the trigger because I didn't want to spend $200 on a basshead phone and end up with a sound signature compromise that wasn't worth it to me.
 
I had resigned myself to the Q40 which had a fair number of decent reviews and was half the price -- seemed like the best bet.  Then...I wandered into my Best Buy Magnolia and they had new in box D600s for $149.99.  I had good luck with other Denon products and like a couple of their IEMs so I bought them.  Best headphone value I have.  Comfortable, perfect sound signature for the application...couldn't be happier with the purchase.
 
FWIW, it seems like a lot of people are harboring some resentment that the DX000 product line didn't move in the direction they wanted; understandable but there are always plenty of other options in this hobby.
 
Regarding how this product line stacks up against others...I certainly believe they more than hold their own.  For instance, I've listened to the P7s a fair amount.  If they were priced the same as D600s, I'd choose the Denons hands down.
 
The D7100 vs the TH900?  Haven't heard either of them (would love to!).  However, I'm not sure why they're being compared.  The D7100s can be had for under $900 new and for $640 'like new' from authorized dealers.  The TH900s go for roughly $1400.  Apples & oranges...sounds like the TH900s should be compared against LCD-XCs, etc.  My $.02

Fully agree with your view on the D600/D7100 vs P7 as well as the fact they shouldn't be compared with a TH-900.
But I do understand people wanting to compare them.
First of all the D7100 is Denon's successor to the Fostex/Denon D7000, while the TH-900 is Fostex successor to the same phone.
Second, comparing by price is tricky.
In Europe, the price at official dealers for a D-7100 was 1249 Euro ($200 more than the price you mention for the TH-900) while they can be bought from Amazon UK for 500 Euro now.
Prices can vary a lot by time or region. A Luxman DA-06 for example costs about $2500 in Japan, $5000 in the US and $6700 in Europe.

For those that own a D600 and think the bass is alittle too much try this mod, http://www.head-fi.org/t/653995/my-very-simple-denon-d600-mod , it really tightens up the bass really well.

Denon D600 is discontinued here in Sweden and The reseller claims there is a replacement coming this fall. Anyone know anything about this? Hoping for a new Foster/Fostex design.

I know Demon announced some new headphones to go with the music mania line but I didn't hear anything about some that will replace the D600.
