I am thinking maybe H8 is more for me as I am quite sensitive to trebble, and much of my music is so so in terms of recording quality.

a shame we missed each other, could have tried mine

I see everything :D

Well it's just as fellow headfiers said, it all boils down to your preference for treble quantity.
I personally listen to a lot of alternative, metalcore, post-hardcore etc a lot of female vocals and occasionally some electronica (Pendulum, Srillex) and I like my trebles H8P-style.

Do you have any favorite earphone or headphone? F.e. if you like shure sound go with 8 (non-pro) if you like JH or UM sound go with 8 Pro.

Ive never tried a high quality iem before. The highest I have is Klipsch S4, so it's hard for me to make comparisons. I do have the HE-500s though playing through the Lyr and I think it sounds great. I also have the Sennheiser 558 and AKG Q701. I like the full sound of the he-500s.

I liked HE-500 with Lyr it's very good sounding set up. I would also say that HE-500 is closer in terms of highs response to Pro rather than non-Pro.

I am a huge fan of the Hifiman HE6 run from speaker tabs. For me it's no contest. The Pro has highs and trebles much closer to the HE6. It's also not a sibilant or edgy treble.

I did a comparison here; will update with a fuller review when my full CustomArt H8P gets in.

For last 3 months I only listen to 5ways. I never found them dark, maybe just a tad darkish. When I put Harmony 8 pro into my ears I was bombarded with treble. Now, after around 30hours of listening to them I hear great bass (very similar in quality to 5ways - it has less subbass but IMO hits harder, they have very similar ADSR), clear, detailed and spacious mids but a little bit aggresive and emphasized treble. Now I can focus not only on treble but also on bass and mids.

I'm also considering sending my Harmony for tweaking it into non-pro version, but according to Peter non-pro version cannot be considered as fully balanced (it seems that treble constitute second layer of music) and balanced sound signature is very important for me.

@Shakur
Spiral Ear SE 5way is very dark for my and they have dense sound. H8P will be better for me. I curious your review about H8P.

Thanks for your feedback... I will talk to Peter should I decide to buy.
