No problem, glad to help. I figure I've ended up owning most of them so should share my thoughts for others to benefit. I had the DTR1 too last year, but personally I didn't like the sound. Everyone's ears are different so unfortunately there's no substitute for hearing it yourself. But I found the detail it provided kind of overwhelming - like it needed more organization to the presentation to pull the music together. I had a similar feeling with the DX200 after owning it for a few months and had a feeling of deja vu when I got the DTR1. Even after burn in my impressions didn't change and I found the treble a bit brassy, and since there's no EQ I couldn't tune that treble down.@someyoungguy
wow thanks for the comprehensive insights! Interesting opinions based on memory and definitely worth a listen. Now I’m set for the Cowon PL - typically interested in how they implement Sabre DACs with their house sound. Speaking of which the DTR1 Prelude seem to interest me as well - looking for a similar replacement for the choppy QP1R
As I said, just my thoughts and you may hear different, but for me it didn't match up to the overwhelmingly positive reviews.
