New Cowon Plenue L

Trying not to do that as its quiet expensive route. I got a feel that maybe r2r2k black would win? Or not? As it seems to have an older pcm1704 vs pcm1792a...
Again i don't really know what are the differences between those 2 dacs...

Does r2r2000 hiss a lot?
Every gear you mention has 5 guys saying yes and 5 guys saying no. Only your ears will tell you want you really like.

I would agree n6ii being a mid tier. It's just that nothing more or less. n6ii e02 sounded decent but where's the excitement? I guess you were referring to more layered
bass which makes tremendous differences. Never tried plenue S but had L and that one had remarkable resolution but sounded too thin for me. S is rather old so I
doubt it's up to par with today's standard.

Nah the S and M2 kicks the arse of loads of hyped up new daps.

None of it or none ever since 1990’s has been able to better this😅😉
Particular failure to all dacs trying to sound analogue🤣🤣🤣
When it comes to digital, the simplest the better,
Tho Tera didn’t sound anything like it either, similar Philips dac image.jpg

:grinning::grinning::grinning: Hi, I can not understand if you are ironic or not..I did not even know of the existence of quality portable CDs..it will be because I have always had poor ones even if they are branded to the point that I preferred the walkman ..
In any case, I can almost agree with you ... until very recently, all the DAPs that I heard did not even come close to the "analog" sound, so to speak, of my MD Sharp 831 which I consider the "king" of all the Minidiscs I had ...
Even if only a few DAPs have recently come a little closer .. they have other perhaps less natural features on the ears..but also a more accentuated resolution, a larger stage size..etc., But there is always something missing in the signature for make them say so "organic" in everything like my Sharp ...
Maybe it's just me I'm delirious, on the other hand if you ask me if I prefer the sound, for the same recording, of an HD file, or SACD compared to a vinyl I have no doubts, I go for vinyl all my life and not I can't even tell you why ... for me they just sound better ..:ksc75smile:

Not ironic at all, read if you care here as a start:

http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/0703/midmonth/bestportable.htm

Then go buy one on ebay for like £400 if you’re lucky and dig for you old cds.
Welcome to the future and forget about silly 24bits, high rez crap and dsd nonsense 😀🍻

ummmm thanks but no thanks :)

I rather stay with wm1z then this old cd walkmans lol. By the way sacd is the same thing as dsd so its not nonsense as you say and dsd sound the best by the way if done properly and natively recorded as well.
It beats cd and vinyl it sounds in between both actually. Smooth and warm as a vinyl and dynamic as a good cd! The best is dsd. But not every one record in dsd so that sucks...

No one’s talking about cd vs files, it’s the same.
Im talking about this particular model and it’s simple implementation sounding far far more natural and real and that was done many years ago. I have personally spent so much time, researching and money and hearing you desperately trying to find out why you’re still unsatisfied after spending over 2k on a single dap( prob the best out there), I thought id give my 2 cents as im way ahead of the trying, asking and spending
No offence meant, enjoy what you know

I wonder if you could take the $2000 and bribe an electronics hobbyist to figure out how to bypass the cd streaming with wav off an sd card or something... people have done that sort of thing with gaming consoles. Have you tried the Nuansa P1 or any of the Schiit multibit DAC?

Per niente ironico, leggi se ti interessa qui come inizio:

http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/0703/midmonth/bestportable.htm

Anche per me no grazie ...   : Sweat_smile:

I don't know, I don't consider myself an extremist, but I assure you that many people who have to deal with 10000k HI-FI and beyond have no doubts about preferring vinyl over anything else..I met the editor of the best and historical magazine Italian specialist in the "Sound" sector who claimed, probably to confirm his thesis, that in the transition from digital to analog, in any format, there was an almost imperceptible loss of harmonics and that therefore the sound was in no way more faithful to reality and a very specialized ear like his was able to pick it up and nothing ever sounded like a vinyl..I don't know if this is true or not and not that I care a lot, I'm not a fanatic or a collector..but in somehow I feel that for me the vinyl is more complete, much more uncomfortable but ..
the warm and smooth of a DSD sounds more like an imitation of the real and physical one of an LP .. maybe it's just an illusion but ...

But better to return to the forum topic without wandering too much..Cowon Pleneau L!:beerchug:

Oh definitely I hear that same statement from veteran audiophiles as they say vinyl is the most analog sound!
Also I agree with your Italian specialist but there is something to consider!

Not all vinyls are perfectly pressed and if yours is #3500 it will definitely sound inferior to the first 100 printed.
Also different country releasing same recording but its pressed differently.

Then turn tables...
Needles....
And bla bla ect ect way to many variables!

True the closest to vinyl is dsd! It has almost a 100% direct path. I think only 1step of processing. While pcm has 5 or 6...

Sony wm1z is know to be warm musical. It actually translates a lot of that organic musical feel your doctor is talking about.

I believe Dsd is the best music format in the world of digital music.

Of course the best experience would be to not have a dac in the chain...
