NEW CORDA HEADFIVE: A New Amp to Celebrate Head-Fi's Fifth Anniversary!

Dear Headfellows,

> would it be able to drive both high impendance headphones (HD580) and IEM's?

Yes, the amplification level is set to a medium level. With a 2V source (stationary CD-player) you have enough gain for even high impedance headphones. Only with a portable source with low output level will maximum sound level be slightly restricted.

With high efficient headphones the amplification level is low enough not to cause any noise and problems with volume control. The amp is very quiet really.

> I order one now, will it be reserved for me until I pay?

Yes, of course.

> it's a little narrower and taller than the HAI, right?

same width but slightly taller (because of the capacitors used).

> is the 10% donation considered a Head-Fi contribution from the purchaser

No, it isn't.

Headphone socket is 1/4"

Cheers

looks like this is right up my ally. Been looking to purchase my first amp and after countless hours reading it seems this amp was made just for me

just like with hf1, it counts as a contribution from Jan (with hf1, it was todd), not you...

Jan: It says "designed by Meier..." on the back. Does that mean the amp will be made somewhere else - maybe in China like the Aria?

Greetings from Hannover!

99.9% of the time, when something says "Designed and Engineered in XYZ", it means "Made in China"
