New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

They are the Beyerdynamic DT Series Dekoni Choice Leather earpads. In fact, they are not real leather, so just be aware of that!

The manufacturer's code is EPZ-DT78990-CHL

I also (very carefully) removed the acoustic cloth mesh in the centre of them.

Here's how they look:

And here's the box details:

I hope that helps!
And how's the sound? I might pick up a pair of the Choice or the Elite. Unsure which.

The box on my Choice pads does say Elite! Is there another Elite pad for the T5p Gen 2?

See my post here for pictures of the box from all angles:

Good spot. My pair are the newer model (closer to the better design on the back lip), the box doesn't have printed type on anywhere but the top. So the big question is, which do you have?! Initially looking at the texture if the pad in your pics, I think it matches my pair of elite.

Ah!

So do I go Choice or do I go Elite !?

Okay, I think I may be able to solve this riddle. This is what I believe the references to Elite are:

Dekoni Audio Elite Sheepskin:
https://dekoniaudio.com/product/dek...r-pads-for-beyerdynamic-dt-series-headphones/
When you take soft, supple sheepskin and wrap it in dense, slow rebounding memory foam, you increase isolation, comfort and sound stage.

The sheepskin and foam wrap create a tight but comfortable seal on your head, even if you wear glasses, to ensure that our discerning listeners have a great headphone experience.

And these are the Choice Leather ones (which I have):
https://dekoniaudio.com/product/bey...ment-ear-pads-by-dekoni-audio-choice-leather/
Dekoni Choice Leather is a soft, supple synthetic leather. Its sheen look and incredibly gentle feel on the skin is constantly mistaken for real leather.

With incredible durability and unmatched comfort, you may find you like it even more than real sheepskin. Dekoni Choice Leather uses the same ultra slow rebound memory foam from the Elite series.

I think that the only difference is the filling material. One has sheepskin and the other has a memory foam.

There's also another couple of pads that could be interesting. These are the 'Hybrid' range which have a faux suede or velour face contacting the ear, whilst having a pleather surround. I guess they will be more comfortable and should provide a good seal too, but I'm not sure how good the seal would be:

Choice Hybrid:
https://dekoniaudio.com/product/dek...-beyerdynamic-dt-and-akg-k-series-headphones/
Dekoni Choice Hybrid is a combination of soft, supple synthetic suede and synthetic leather. Its sheen velour and leather looks and feels incredibly gentle on the skin.

Dekoni Choice hybrid has Choice Leather on the exterior, Choice Suede on the face which touches your ears, and Choice Leather with fenestration on the interior.

Elite Hybrid:
https://dekoniaudio.com/product/dek...phones-and-amiron-also-fits-t5-and-many-more/
Dekoni Audio created this Frankenstein from the best of all its pads, and it represents the pinnacle of the Dekoni brand.

The Elite Sheepskin outer ring improves isolation and the velour face gives a soft, velvety touch.

Add to the inside of the pad Dekoni’s Elite Fenestrated Sheepskin and you get the most neutral sound possible.

I would avoid any 'fenestrated' pads as these are better suited to open headphones and will not provide a good seal for use with the T5p.

Finally managed to order the choice leather from wod audio in Germany. Thanks for your help.
From my posts you will see I have been between selling and keeping the t5p's.Listening every day the sound has grown on me,and the Dekoni pads will bring a bit more comfort so now going to hang on to them.

So just received the Dekoni elite pads and put them on without cutting away the inner fabric.
Comfort is fantastic, now similar to the Sony mdr-z7.
Leaving the inner fabric has maybe taken the edge of the brightness that was bothering me.
Will take a few weeks with the Beyers and the Sony's but at the moment I think I might let the Sonys go and keep the Beyers.

Great to hear you're happy with the pads!

Awesome news. You can also use the official Beyer foam between the driver and pad. Might help with the edge.

Actually leaving the existing fabric covering the driver is enough for me,and I am now very happy with the sound. Also with the original pads I felt an uncomfortable pulse feeling on my ears. This has disappeared with the Dekonis.
Definitely worth the investment in buying the pads.
