The Soloist was quite good...stay far, far away from the HA-160.

Getting a conductor V2. Splitting hair to decide between Beyerdynamic T1. 2 and Hifiman HE560.
Thoughts?

Thoughts!? Well for me, there were many aspects that lead me in the direction of the Beyerdynamic T1 over the competition.

Heads up with the HiFiMAN HE-560 is relatively straight forward.

Without getting into the sound quality war..

Not to bash HiFiMAN products as I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the sets I've owned and tested however.......

The T1's are built in Germany. They come with a 5 year warranty. They are lighter weight. They are more comfortable. The cable design, feel, comfort and connectors are better. The materials feel of better quality. Also the fit and finish have tighter tolerances. Better build quality overall.

As a general rule, its harder to manufacture planar drivers exactly the same for each production run. In addition to that, there will likely be more variation in drivers between each and every pair of headphones as well.

Please forgive the excessive use of "they" and "better".

For me, the Beyerdynamic T1 was an instant hit.  I tried the HifiMan HE560 and the Audeze LCD line over a couple of long listening sessions because of what people were saying about them, and I could not find them doing it for me.  Maybe Planar Headphones are not for me.  Dynamic Drive hits the spot - as soon as I put on the Beyerdynamic T1, the sound reproduction was exciting and well-rounded, so much that I had to purchase them.  Anyone who has read some of my posts knows that I was also impressed with the Senheisser HD-800 and the Grado PS-1000, which I feel, edges out the HD-800.

One thing that all the headphones had in common, including the planars, is that they all felt comfortable wearing them throughout the listening session.

The Beyerdynamic T1s are a clear winner in the world of our headphone journey.

True, the HA-160 was not so good with the T1s.

I have the HA-160D (come to think of it, my Burson ma be of a special edition).  I tend to like it with my Beyerdynamics.

I would love to hear the Conductor V2.

My cable arrived. Looks really nice. Well made. Sounds just OK. Beyers cable is better in overall sound performance/presentation. A bit fuller sounding. But this one is short and easy in mobile use.

The fit and finish on your cable looks nicer than what originally comes with the Beyerdynamic T1 Headphones.  Is that cable from Beyerdynamic?

I am tempted to purchase one myself based on looks alone.  Does the cable sound better than the original?

And what is the length of the cable?

I did buy it here: http://www.ebay.pl/itm/281525654696?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
It is 1,3m long, but I suppose they got also 1,5 or 1,8m

I cannot say it sounds better than original one. But I'd say it offers 90% of sound quality of original. You do not loose anything in sound, it is no way worse, no major faults. These are just nuances. The shorter one I bought sound a tiny bit brighter.

But I really love it in my setup, comfort is sometimes more important than few cents in quality :)

Quality and fit looks amazing given the cost of this.

Thanks for your report, I've ordered one to have a play with.

Keep in mind it is not OCC 7N Cryo Copper Wire.
But I suppose in T1 V2 cups cables are also not ...

No ... but it's over €100 cheaper than the one that is

There's a silver plated one from the same source at under €40 that tempted me, but I decided it was far too extravagant

Yeah...you should be quite pleased. Congrats!

And between the headphones, I prefer the T1.2's by a small margin...but I'd say both.

I didn't *dislike* the T1/Conductor.  I just didn't like it as much as the T1/V200 or HE560/Conductor (but more than the V200/HE560) when I was comparing them.
