the R27RE does not look to have the same headphone output power as the other 27. Is it a typo?Kingwa just reached out. Says the R27re is better than the MK2 and the one he recommends if not wanting to spend the cash on the HE.
I am getting closer. Need to sell R28 to fund a R27re. Too many things I want.
Kingwa says the delicacy of the sound on the RE is what makes the biggest difference. It will be a 2nd system AIO for reviewing. Not in a huge rush.
I picked a DAC. Went a different direction from Audio-GD. So excited!

The RE has less output power than both the HE and standard R27: 6.5 W at 40 ohms instead of 10 W.the R27RE does not look to have the same headphone output power as the other 27. Is it a typo?
Aliexpress 50 ohm LMR-400 cables are great for the price. I love the ones I have in my HE-7 and DI-20.You will save a lot of money on good clock cables with 75 Ohm
Really good 50 Ohm Cables are expensive... $ 700 +
I have not tried expensive clock cables, but I believe some other members have found similar quality performance on the LMR-400 vs much more expensive ones.
Only mind that LMR-400 are pretty stiff and difficult to bend.

Any recommendation for the LMR-400 cables suppliers?
Are different suppliers LMR-400 cables make significant different in sound quality?

No, it doesn't have the same amount of power. The RE is only 6.5 watts into 40ohms whereas the MK2 and HE are 10 watts into 40 ohms. Honestly, this holds no value to me personally. I don't know of a single headphone that needs more than 6.5 watts into 40 ohms.the R27RE does not look to have the same headphone output power as the other 27. Is it a typo?
I am looking to upgrade my R28 as just an AIO for my secondary system for reviewing. I have 2 reference amps that I use in my reference set up. My SS amp the CFA3 has 16 watts into 50 ohms, which is total overkill. Fortunately the gain was set rather low so I have plenty of volume play. But, this amp is so powerful.
I am leaning towards the R27RE when I am ready.

HE6 and variants are happy out of an amp that can push 10W into 50 ohms but they're ok or even fine on much less. Not a few guys are running them directly off 100+ WPC speaker amps. I guess there are some other historical examples. But this is for transient power, steady state 2 or 3W is probably enough to deafen somebody even with these inefficient cans. So it's mostly about headroom and it seems Kingwa believes that's important for sound quality on music with a lot of dynamic range.
Between 6 watts and 9 watts you don't get much incremental headroom at 50 ohms. So, huge power out of a headamp really is quite useful since power and volume are logarithmically related. It is better to have it and not need it than the converse.

I bought from this AliExpress vendor. The connectors are better quality than the crimp style on something cheaper like RG401.

I'm locked out of aliexpress and they don't answer my emails. I'll never waste time on them again.
If anybody knows any good ebay vendors, I might try one of the LMR-400 cables. Thank you.

Buy the shortest lenght possible.
Edit: in my case they had male BNC in both ends.
This cables made a noticeable difference in SQ vs regular ones. Not night and day, but totally worth the price.

But i would recommend buying this, it's a bit over 150usd shipped (shipping will be charged when processed and is 48usd), but a clear upgrade

I asked this US company about Harmonic Technology 50 ohm cables and said not available in the export catalog. But they suggested I have a look at this one!!!! Maybe if I won the lottery I would try.

Still, the cable sold in HK is legit. HT is often sold bulk too, so one for instance could assemble a silver 75-ohm bought from that same seller for reasonable money.I asked this US company about Harmonic Technology 50 ohm cables and said not available in the export catalog. Thank you. The first two are doable. Anything over 135 euros including shipping is a no-can-do in the EU if you don't want to pay 50-100% in taxes and file a bunch of paperwork. I don't think I'll spend 150 dollars on cable, anyway, unless we're talking about a roll 100 meters longGot mine there
