I can't remember where it is posted, but someone quoted I think it was Alex and that is not the case -- the diaphragm is totally new, along with the magnets IIRC.

No quibble that the LCD-3 uses a new transducer. But that's not to say they are using/will be using the rejects from LCD-3  to build the LCD-2. That was my point. It would be still better than the old version used in the LCD-2.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one with this particular issue concerning both the LCD-2 and the LCD-3.  I have spent some time with both at Can Jam.  Unfortunately, I just can't get either one of them to sit properly on my head.  If I moved my head down a bit, the headphones would just dip forward--the LCD-3 like its predecessor has no mechanism to stabilize horizontal rotation in a certain angle-- and causing me to readjust them.

No other headphone I have tried and owned (including the AKG K1000s, HiFiMAN HE-500 or HE-6) does this.  This is a pity because the SQ and imaging of both headphones were amazing.  I had a chance to listen to the LCD-2V2 balanced recabled paired up with the RSA Dark Star+the Boulder CD-player, and I thought it was awesome.  I had asked to try the LCD-3 demo as well, but I wasn't allowed to do it, which is understandable given that the probably received many such requests from different attendees asking to take the cans to different tables.

I'm hoping that Audez'e considers improving the suspension mechanism to add this feature in the future and improve the comfort/ergonomics, so I can buy a pair.

So what type of case comes with the LCD-3?

You have the choice of wood or the traveling case, same as the LCD-2,  I would presume.

I would think so but I try not to assume or presume to much these days.

I did not have any fit problems with them at all. I actually felt they were very secure. As far as asking to take the LCD3s to other tables, I waited til a couple hours before the end of the show on Sunday when the LCD3s were spending lots of time not being listened to before I asked Alex to borrow a pair. Not sure where the pair on the Pinnacle came from. Seemed like TTVJ bought a pair at the show or had some arrangement to borrow an extra one. They didn't have them until Saturday though.

So when can we expect a veteran head-fi'er to give a comprehensive review of these new flagships?

It's on Audeze's website. So I am safe to presume.

It was assumed that I had read the information with the LCD-3, which I did not. LOL  Thanks for heads up.

Travel case all the way. Got my rev 2 with one and love it.

I got the wooden case.  Much sexier, and I won't be carrying my LCD-2s around much any time soon.

Personally I've been put off by the way Audeze communicates with its customer base and have decided not to buy another Audeze product.  Flame me if you will, tell me about other companies and their policies if you want, but no more Audeze products for me.
