I hadn't thought about the option. I would prefer the foam by far to the leather covered headband.

I have the leather headband and it annoys me when I lean over and the LCD-2s almost slide off my head. Would changing to foam make any difference?

Solution for WA: Buy them used so they don't get your money. :D

In all seriousness though I am frustrated (to say the least) that I was not even remotely informed about the LCD 3 when I ordered my LCD 2. Sure they're at a different price point, but it's still frustrating...

I asked if they could possibly forgo the restocking fee on my (less than a week old) LCD 2 as I may return the LCD 2 and purchase the LCD 3. The answer was no and they were somewhat disorganized with my email. Took awhile to answer and then they didn't know if they'd responded or not yet.

I've had worse, but from a small company like this I'd expect better. Can't complain too much as my LCD 2 still sound wonderful and I'll be keeping them, but I can't help but feel slightly cheated.

Man I hope not. I have the leather on the way for improved looks and hygiene but have no ergonomic problems with the foam. I hope it's just as comfortable and doesn't slide around.

Personally I've been put off by the way Audeze communicates with its customer base and have decided not to buy another Audeze product.  Flame me if you will, tell me about other companies and their policies if you want, but no more Audeze products for me.

No offense of course, but I find this a bit odd considering you are (or were) probably the most vocal poster in the LCD-2 thread.  Nothing wrong with that, but reading this post I'm just kind of like..."what?"  So dramatic.

I can see where WA is coming from, as he is one of those who replaced the Rev1 with the Rev2 just recently.

My guess is that he's pissed that there may be something better out there than what he already owns

I am in the foam camp as well, LCD-3's + foam headband please!!! The leather headband is terribly for my head.

or they can provide the option considering the headphones are not cheap =3.  See what I did there?

Nothing wrong with requesting something for a product your about to spend almost 2 grand on, they listened with the rev 2's.

Probably not, personally I love the r2, but it would have been much easier and less costly overall to upgrade to the LCD-3 straight.  Losing $300 (depreciation plus postage) for a few months of enjoyment of the r2 is a bit steep for me to consider upgrading to LCD-3 now.

Same here, upgraded to r2 a little over a month ago and now come along LCD-3.  If I knew about it, I will wait and get the LCD-3 instead.  I will skip the 3 and go for the next release.
