Yes If you don't use the headband resting on your head and you position the cups so they are resting on your temples that would be uncomfortable. In my case I use the headband and position the cups with the HE6 so I have NP..

No not because of the HE6 being lighter than the LCD-3 (but still that is a factor), but because of the HE6's highs and mids along with a bigger deeper sound-stage, and the HP cable that comes with the HE6 in comparison to the LCD-2. And its for those reasons plus quality control that I said imo the LCD-3 is trying to catch up to the HE6's. But as I have said the HE6 needs the right HP amp to power the HE6's.
Also a note about the bass of the HE6, using the right amp and yes the Liquid Fire is one of those amps but just not with the stock JJ tubes that its my understand that was used in the Liquid Fire's at the show, if you pop in a quad set of Siemens E88CC=CCa in the LF the bass is very good using the HE6's.

The only real rave review came from Jude using a costly after market HP cable and his high end portable gear. I doubt that the HE6's would fair all that well on that gear of Jude's.

Anyway I would really like the LCD-3's to have raised the bar and that they are a better headphone than the HE6.
btw what is Audeze return policy I can't find that info on there web site.

There is now a link to the LCD3 in AUDEZE's online shop - but instead of buying it you can only press "notify me when item is back in stock" and enter your email address. Never realized they had any in stock... Anyway, for those who are excited like me, you may want to go there and enter your email address now. I kept checking their online store these few days so would like to share this with other LCD enthusiasts here.

I bet the LCD3 are already in production to make sure that by the official release data, they will be available through their website and at their distributors. I doubt those guys will want to deal with the previous pressure they were under during with the LCD2 release.

I'd bet apples to acorns the LCD-4 comes out on 12/12/12...

I bet you are right too. But somebody please tell me, somebody please help me, how do I make it through 2012 without LCD3. Most of you haven't been exposed to the virus LCD3 like I have ;)

Even if a LCD-4 comes to be, who says it will be better and not just different. There are a few who still prefer the 2 to the 3 and I have read of a few that like to have them both. . . so . . . life goes on. :^)

I can't remember where it is posted, but someone quoted I think it was Alex and that is not the case -- the diaphragm is totally new, along with the magnets IIRC.

That's correct, Alex told me that at RMAF.

@WarriorAnt
I'm just curious.  As someone that has always listened to speakers, how often do you end up actually enjoying your headphones? Do you force yourself to put them on more often because of the money you spent on them?  Or do they really fulfill everything you need? Do you regret going to headphones or do you wish you had stuck with speakers?

I find myself personally enjoying listening at night while i'm lying in bed more anything but the headphones are so uncomfortable to wear because they get in the way.
I'm not saying i don't love my headphones, i was just curious as to what your feelings about your new hobby were.
I know this is an lcd-3 thread, but i'm just trying to figure out if something like this is worth it or not.
