More than likely it will sound worse than their bigger brother, the A40

Im not impressed with this one. I will only use circumaural headsets. Also I dont need a all around headset. I would use one of my regular cans. The reason I like the a40 headset is because of the boosted mids. The A30 boost the treble and bass. If I wanted a u sound signature I would go back to my mmx-300.

This stuff is for gamers who swear by steelseries and garbage like that... None of it is going to compete with proper equipment.

Exactly. I have a pair, but I am a gamer. I need the boosted mid and clear treble to hear footsteps in a 10 (digital) foot radius otherwise I'd be dead half the time. I'm more dependent on sound in video games over visual awareness, really it's just a bonus that my set of A40s sound decent kicking out most my electronica and jazz so they don't force me to swap between my 501s between idling/playing.

Connecting the A40s directly to a source isn't that bad. They are definitely not worth the 150$ asking price, especially for a stereo set for gamers. Hmm, I feel like writing up a review seeing as noone has yet, but I also feel it's unnecessary seeing as these phones aren't marketed to hi fi nuts.
