This device is clearly not for the audiophile I'm going to steer clear from it. Controls in the stock ipod earbuds is fail.

its strange, as i see in your signature you have the RS-120 wireless headphones, now they clearly arent for audiophiles, dont worry i have the rs-140, but they perform a function, i didnt steer clear of them for audiophile snobbery's sake, they were useful, in the same regard that for me personally and others the new shuffle will be useful, its angle is its size

we all have our main rigs, our portable rigs, but some have an ultra portable rig, and this will aid in that function!

My Motorola blue-tooth headphones actually sound decent on my HTC Wing.
Tone is similar to PX100 on an Ipod Nano.

i just think this is a fail. could have been better if the controls were just on the device itself. maybe the next generation. i really would like a tiny device like this.

im guessing if they put controls on the device, the whole thing would turn into a button!

taken from the wiki

"...However, since the iPod Shuffle begins playing music automatically when it is turned on, third-party headphones may still be used in "autoplay" mode (with no volume or playback controls). Some future third-party headphones and headphone adapters will include full support for the iPod shuffle. These headphones contain a special Apple authentication chip. Without this chip, third-party headphones are not allowed to interact with the iPod..."
