Battery-life so so

But it's soooo small. Smaller than iRiver S10?

I like using my shuffle in the car with a 3.5mm stereo cable; the shuffle itself can change tracks and adjust volume.
Can't do that (or connect to separate speakers) with this dumb ass shuffle.

The new shuffle is a joke. 4GB, no music or volume controls on the device itself, and no display? It's a ridiculously cumbersome design that just screams that Apple has run out of ideas for a low-end DAP. For the same price there are superior choices. The reviews and description of this thing make it seem like stabbing an ice pick through your eardrums would be less painful than trying to use the thing. Apple is obviously banking on the iPod brand to sell this thing since if any other manufacturer tried this they'd have a snowball's chance in hell of selling any of these.
