Hi there, I'm not much of an audio guy so i need some help. I"m looking for a good pair of in ear headphones. I need them to be durable because i usually keep them in my pocket so they get beat up. I will be using them mainly on my ipod. So any suggestions help. I listen to mainly rock, modern and classic, techno and DaB. I need to go cheap because i am also buying a set of regular headphones, i just need these to use when i leave the house. I'm also looking at a price range of under $100. So any suggestions for the best bang for the buck. Please help!

If you can spare another $10 - $20 the HJE900 are really good and are pretty indestructible.

If durability is a high priority I'd consider the Meelectronics M11+ and ViSang R02. They are quite a bit underbudget but sound quite good for the money. Both have high-quality housings and reinforced cables. There's also the Sleek SA1 which has replaceable cables as well. Of course if you can spring for the Panasonics they're still a step above all of these but you won't find them new for under $110.

Etymotic Mc5 @ $80. Best isolation, durable housing, mylar cable, most natural frequency response (how the human ear percieves sound = 'Natural')

Radius DDM is best, can't get anything sounding so good in this price range.  Also  +1` Hippo VB are very nice earphones for around 90 US. Can't think of anything else

The DDM will not last very long in OP's pocket. I give them
4
weeks tops.

I have both, Hippo VB & HJE900.

They're both very durable but because of the luxurious looks I don't feel comfortable putting the Panasonic into my pocket.

If you want to whirl your 'phones around, go for the Hippos!

If you have a decent equalizer on your audio device, then Playaz-audio.de has some good choices.. the TD100 is the best of their offerings, I guess, and its on sale for 25euro + shipping of 8 euro (unless you are in Germany). Way too much bass but if you equalize it then they are great phones, and for cheap.

The HJE900 has a detachable cable, and thats what you are most likely to break when carrying an earphone in your pocket. I recommend buying a used pair, from $80-$100.
