Yes the Bella V1 improves exactly the way you want it to, but sadly the stage size not exactly huge and is similar to the NC5 v2. What the Bella V1 brings over the NC5 v2 is better details, better precision, tighter bass and far better treble extension and energy. Yes the tonality is similar but they are not in the same league when if comes to other things.

the Bella V2 sadly has a considerably smaller stage size but has considerably more details, and its on the drier side, its not juicy like the NC5 v2.

Bella V1 vs V2 is well known to everyone here, V2 is drier, sharper, smaller bass, has more details and precision compared to the V1. The V2 has smaller stage, nearly 30% smaller. You can obviously try wide bore tips (spin fit) and better cables to open the stage up by another 15-20%. @superuser1 can guide you on the exact cable which improves the stage. (should be applicable to both earphones).

You should get the V1 if stage is your priority.
Can we have v2 with v1's soundstage? Can I have a pony? Flying cars? A genie with infinite wishes? :D

Seriously, a wide-stage V2 sounds like about the best thing ever.

I just dropped my Bella V1's off to be upgraded to V2. After a short audition - it doesn't take long at all to hear the differences, as it's fairly dramatic - I left my original Bella's with Thomas to convert to V2. Immediately noticeable was the added detail, definition, sparkle and bass 'snap'. I didn't notice a contraction in stage, but it wasn't a long audition. I was quickly sold on the overall tonality, which to me was altogether more exciting and dynamic - a nudge towards 'stats, which i already felt the Bellas were leaning towards in their V1 configuration. Thomas has seemingly taken what was best about the V1 and improved upon it whilst tightening up the sub bass.

As all things in this hobby, horses for courses... YMMV!

One thing that remains consistent is the outstanding service Thomas provides - he has been and remains truly fantastic to work with.

I have reviewed both the NC5 v2 and Bella V2, working on the Bella V1 now. I don't have the Bella V2 with me but the other two are here, Bella V1 is with @superuser1.

Any news from you and Superuser? Did you draw a final conclusion? Maybe you even had the chance to compare all three directly side by side?

Thanks a lot for this post!
Interesting that you did not hear a decrease in sound stage!

Me, I am also eagerly waiting for a test version of Bella V2 and will post impressions as soon as I have them! :)

Very interested on impressions too, because just sent my NC5v2 for update to Bella v1 last friday (BTW after a lot of issues with spanish national mail service). I'm turning towards v1 as per Thomas recommendation and because NC5v2 sound is very close to what I prefer (and Bella v1 matches more with it than Bella v2, which seems to be more analytical).
In my humble opinion, V1 should be more versatile with different music genres*

* I'm really, really tired of trying earphones that only sound good with classical, jazz and other soft genres, but when I throw some hard rock, metal, etc. they sound analytical with bothering peaks from high mids to highs and all of this. I like to own a couple of analytical phones for punctual use and hearing reset, but I want the rest of them to be so versatile that I can listen to any genre or lend them to a friend and not have to tell him what music to play so they sound good. In fact (and this will grant me for sure some "enemies") I think that high-end phones should sound good with every music genre or be very specialized, so they achieve 95-100% of the best possible sound on a unique genre. Plus this should be pointed in every phones review, so some users did not pay for gear that is not the best for their need (just my opinion and sorry for OT)

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I'm struggling for months with Spanish customs and I'm still waiting for Bellas to arrive... It's a shame how some privatized old public services work here.
