Mine are also arriving today, though not NOS.  Still, I've really been looking forward to giving these ones a try.

Edit: and they're here.  My first impression is that these are exactly what I wanted the AKG K240M to be.  They are a bit more aggressive and a lot faster, without losing that sweet balanced signature.  Sweet!

I also have the K240 M.  How would you say the soundstage differs between the two?

They've been gone for about a month.  I have to go from memory, but my impression is that the K340 has a wider, more expansive soundstage.  I was actually a bit surprised by how wide these feel.

Mine arrived today. Advertised as found at the bottom of a drawer, they have been used or maybe just taken out for a look. They were checked before posting and work fine. I would say I have the bass light version, but I am giving them a low volume run in as I have heard a few slight distortions. I presume that is the electrostatic part getting its charge.

No box, but still in its polystyrene case. The pads have their covers and everything else is brand new.

What kind of distortions, ProgMan? (love your Avatar, BTW).  You should not hear any distortions.

The first thing i thought when I looked at that picture was, "Wow, that's a lot of styro-foam." Packaging sure does change over the years. But they are beautiful phones none-the-less :)

I read somewhere that the electrostatic part has a charge and if the headphones are not used for a long time they need re-charging. A bit like static electricity. I take it that is nonsense!

The distortion was a faint background buzz which stopped after a small pop. The music then brightened up and the cans are now singing.

Something else I noticed was that the plastic covers on the pads needed to be pealed off and they are distorted. I wonder if the previous owner listened to them with the covers still on. If he did no wonder they were abandoned in the back of a drawer.
