MYSPHERE 3.1-UNIQUE in SOUND&DESIGN&BUILD QUALITY

Can someone point out the main differences between the Mysphere and Raal earspeakers?
Raal SR1a and b have true ribbon transducers.
This is just a corrugated piece of thin aluminum foil, moving inside a magnetic field.

The practical consequence:
This piece of aluminum has an impedance of 0.02 Ohm only (no typo) and cannot directly be connected to any normal headphone- (or speaker-) amp.
Raal has developed some special interfaces and amps to pair with the ribbon transducer.

Mysphere uses normal, albeit very sophisticated, dynamic drivers.
Available in 32 and 120 Ohm, with high sensitivity of 96 dB / mW.

Mysphere can be paired with any existing headphone amp, driven out of a mobil player or even directly from a smartphone, like an iPhone with the little $10 white Lightning to Headphones dongle.

I’m using RME ADI-2 Pro at home, and Qudelix 5K on the go with Mysphere 3.2 (110 Ohm).
For my typical listening level of ca 70 dBA Leq (long term avagage) and up to 100 dB SPL peak I just need a few mW, no challenge for any amp.

Thanks for the correction on the RAAL, @KaiSc The Myspheres sound very special, don't they.

Yes! The MySpheres are most special! Just as the Stax Sigma is. :)
My favourite headphone of all time is the Stax Sigma Pro (very closely followed by the Sigma/404 hybrid). The Mysphere is very reminiscent of the original Stax Sigma IMHO

Agree. The ambient presentation of the Sigma Pro and Sigma 404 is just so excellent. :)

Still loving the Mysphere 3.2 - currently listening to Miles Davis Four & More via the Fidelice DAC/preamp/headphone amp. Superb sound.

Haha! Am doing some rotation. On the Susvara for the last day or so. Was just looking at my 3.2 this morning. Time for it to get a run out :)

I have been a bit distracted by the Stax Omega of late. But I enjoy the 3.1 particularly from the Shanling M9. It is pretty staggering off the Sony 1ZM2 as well. As well as the Sony DMP. I do think the Sony sound signature suits the MySphere. :)

Surprisingly, the 3.2 pairs well with the DMP as well. Though I actually prefer the MySphere 3.2 out of Sony TA-ZH1ES, Phatlab RASA and the Shanling M30. :)

Did you ever listen to records using Artificial head recording?
To me at least, the MS 3 is the best ever heard!

Ah... not tried that one yet. I recall I had a Chesky album recorded that way somewhere

Found the binaural albums on Apple Music:

The Amber Rubarth album is the one I have. Will give them a listen tomorrow. Thanks for the tip @hrklg01 !

Yeah I prefer it with the DMP Z1 above all. How does Wm1Z2 compare with the original?

Been taking the MS 3.2 on a spin with the Wells Audio Milo. Excellent depth and note weight. :)

Sorry, I missed this. :) Well, I think the WM1ZM2 is a clear step up from the OG 1Z in terms of sound quality. Definitely should give it a try if you like the 1Z. :)
