With the same memory foam pads (angled or not angled) mounted, it's hard to hear the differences between K701/702, Q701, K712.

I am looking for a headphone with huge soundstage, So I am picking K701 since the reviews say they have the largest soundstage...

According to reviews, K701 lacks bass, Would changing the pads on K701 to memory foam increase the bass ?

How would a K701 sound with a memory foam ear pads ?

Are there other ear pads for K701 ? How would they affect the sound ?

To all K712 / K701 / Q701 / K702 owners, get the Sonarworks profile for Studio accuracy. Fantastic one upgrade you can do to your cans especially in the Bass region - they all EQ wonderfully. You can try the benefit for free via the Sonarworks mobile app before investing into the pricey but awesome desktop version of Sonarworks.

K701/2 + Memory foam pads == K712

Q701 + Memory foam pads == K7xx

???
There are also foam rings under the pads, which differ through the models. For example denser foams inside K701 makes the upper treble more restrained against the lower treble. And vice versa with less denser foams in K702.
The new ones for K701 - denser foams - from original parts are still available at the thomann.de

K701 pads have the farest soundstage and a bit brighter mids. But sometimes I have problem to focus on voices placed right in the middle of scene. They are simply too far. It's like listening from a balcony inside a cathedral.
Go for K702 and occ cable.
