Synergistic Research Purple is what I use.

The difference from stock "glass" tubes is pretty substantial, actually. The entire soundstage opens up and becomes wider and more lively. There's a very specific "life-like" sound to everything that, with stock fuses, sounds just a bit veiled and soft.

Honestly, I did not believe in the magic of fuses either until I heard it for myself. In my analytical mind, volts and amps are just volts and amps, and a tiny fuse should be irrelevant. But it's not. I wish I could quantify it, but I can't. I just hear the difference, and it's pretty dramatic in this DAC. YMMV.

Please note, if you're using 110/120v, you need to replace BOTH fuses, if 220v, then just one fuse. Search this thread for details. It's around page 40 or so.

Also, Synergistic Research is running a "buy 2, get 1 free" sale right now, so...bonus!

Nobody said there was a problem.

If you want a DAC without a fuse, go with Denafrips, which also sound fantastic.

No, it's perfect, but but this way is better )
Disagreed - without fuse sounds better. :)

If doubt, move a fuse from inside enclosure to a male plug like on the (attached) photo. BTW, it is a plug for the original IBM equipment, made in UK for South African market.

[EDIT] Only now a photo shows up. Still original fuse!!! :)

Thanks for sharing. Nothing beats experiments we do on our own! As for fuses, indeed these devices can make a noticeable difference particularly in digital components.

Have you solution for Dell equipment made for Zimbabwe marker )
Never have been in Zim. However many years ago someone from Zim attempted to buy from me advanced Ethernet switches, don't know why from me and how they found me, I only had a consulting business, not a wholesale. :)

By the way moving a fuse outside is a brilliant idea. Why no one follows?
Not better business to sell expensive fuses? :)

...or other companys DACs?

Dude, we get it. You don't like Musician and like to hawk your own company's wares. Some of us are not interested. Take your negativity to a different thread. We're interested in constructive feedback here.
